Sanctuary Evil

This past week, President Trump announced that it was being considered and reviewed that overcrowded detainment facilities would be relieved by releasing (by court order) the illegal immigrants into sanctuary cities and states. Of course, the Leftist Mayors, Governors, and various Congress-critters predictably howled with outrage, charging the President with almost every accusation under the sun.

Quite frankly, I’m sitting back with equal parts being amused, laughing, and somewhat sad.

The amused and laughing parts are at the amazingly nova-bright in-your-face hypocrisy of the Left. For the past couple of years, they have been screaming about the inhumane conditions and cruelty of the illegal immigrants being kept in detainment centers. They have touted the benefits of the illegal immigrants – diversity, increased economic prosperity, and lower crime(!). When it’s announced that they may get more of their cherished illegal immigrants, then they scream about the inhumanity and cruelty of releasing those same illegal immigrants into cities that have publicly proclaimed themselves of being open and welcome to illegal immigrants.

Which is it? Open city or closed city? Good illegals or bad illegals? President Trump has the Left holding their pants up in the corner that they have put themselves in with no way out. It’s about time someone has shown these morons what hypocrites they really are.

The sad part comes into a couple of categories.

The first is for the immigrants themselves. Most, not all, are looking for nothing more than survival and a better life. I fully understand that, but that’s where my sympathy ends. Crashing through a country’s border and then having to look over your shoulder for the rest of your life is no way to live. You would always be illegal, and probably being taken advantage of as well. There are better ways to do this the right way.

The second are for the citizens of the towns, cities, and states (mostly in California) that have declared themselves as sanctuaries for the illegal immigrants. I don’t know if the citizenry voted/approved of the sanctuary status for their locations, but I’m fairly sure that once the influx hits, job availability will go down, wages will go down, and crime will go up. I’m sure that once the pain hits, the citizens will want change, but I’m not wholly sure if they will connect the actions of their elected officials with the problems and vote someone in that isn’t a Liberal Democrat.

What is evil about the whole situation is that the Liberal Democrats have put their political power above their sworn duty to serve the citizens that elected them. They are using the illegal immigration issue, in part, to solidify their hold on power. By using this issue, they are using the illegal immigrants – people – to further this agenda.

In other words, they are hurting thousands of people, citizens and illegals, to acquire power. Folks, that’s a type of cynical evil that I’m appalled at.

I hope that the people of these cities, towns, and states stand up to this evil, shout “Enough!!”, and can these twits as soon as possible. The sooner they wake up, the better.

I have my doubts that will happen anytime soon, but that’s another post for another time.

What Negotiation?

Last week, President Trump put forth a proposal to address the issue of children of illegal immigrants that were brought into the United States. His proposal included the following:

  • A path to citizenship for 1.8 million “Dreamers” that would last 10-12 years that includes qualifying criteria
  • Full funding for “The Wall” and border security
  • An end to unrestricted Chain Migration
  • An end to the Visa lottery system
  • Enforcement of the E-Verify system
  • Limits to Immigration to include a merit-based system
  • Ending sanctuary cities/states

Of course, Democrats are losing their minds calling it “racist,” “un-American,” and a variety of other things that I care not to repeat here. But let’s really take a look at what is proposed:

A Path to Citizenship: The number of people proposed is staggering, and far more than what the Democrats have insisted be included in any immigration deal. It’s not a done deal – the proposal floats qualifications such as showing merit (i.e., being a productive citizen, law-abiding, not a Welfare recipient, etc.) as well as a waiting period of 10 to 12 years to prove their worthiness (a period of time which is equal to that of people currently applying for citizenship). I’m presuming that the applicants would be registered and legal resident aliens, and would be forbidden to vote in any elections.

In some respects, this makes sense. Anyone that is serious about becoming a citizen of this country should be able to keep their nose clean for a decade, and prove during that time they can be a productive contributor to society. Those that don’t are then weeded out and deported.

On the logistical side, could you imagine the amount of resources that would be needed to round-up and deport just 800,000 people? Staggering, in my opinion. It would rival the most jaded dystopian novel that you could think of.

People who think that President Trump is selling out his Conservative base need to look at these last two points closely. Yes, the kids are here illegally, participants in their parents illegal immigration to this country. Morally, it can be argued (and is), not to penalize the children. It can also be argued that legalizing, although delayed, the Dreamers would increase the Democratic voting base.

I could argue that once the Dreamers (the ones that survive the decade-long vetting process) will have jobs, become productive, and presumably have a better appreciation for self-sufficiency rather than the sit-on-your-butt and receiving handouts mentality that the Democrats seem to promote. At the same time, it frosts me that these children (some of which are now young adults) are still here illegally and we’re talking about making them legal.

The Wall & Security: Once the door has been closed, it needs to be locked and guarded. Going down this path of offering a path to citizenship needs to have a cutoff point. This situation cannot be repeated in 30-some years. That was proven when Ronald Reagan (yes, that Ronald Reagan) signed into law the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Here it is 32 years later, and we’re facing the same issues again though non-enforcement of existing laws, and the subverting of various laws by Congress and other state & local governments.

Chain Migration, Visa Lottery, and Merit-Based Immigration: Both of these programs do not benefit the United States. Bringing immigrants into this country that do not contribute is a drain upon the system. Indeed, I have read of several accounts of relatives of legal immigrants being brought into this country and being met by attorneys & social workers whose sole purpose was to assist in signing them up to receive Welfare and other public entitlements. There are also reports of people who came into this country on the Visa Lottery and Chain Migration systems engaging in terrorists activities.

It used to be that to immigrate to the United States, you had to show that you had a skill and that you could contribute to the country. This is a merit-based system that we have gotten away from. It’s time to bring it back.

E-Verify: Once the door is closed, people who have refused to sign up or illegally entered the country should not be able to find work (a reason) to stay. They will then self-deport. Otherwise, that person is taking a job that a legal citizen should have (and another person off the Welfare system). Companies that violate these laws should be penalized and the responsible parties prosecuted.

Ending Sanctuary Cities and States: The current laws of the United States specify that anyone harboring an illegal alien is guilty of a felony. Provide a grace period for the elected officials to reverse their policies. Those that don’t should be prosecuted and imprisoned. It has already been proven that sanctuary cities have higher crime rates and are unsafe for the citizens of that city. By providing aid, comfort, and protection to criminals, these officials are violating their oaths of office to the people who elected them, and should therefore be removed.

The Democrats are not in agreement with much of the above for several reasons (most of them political).

The Democrats want the immigration situation to be a campaign issue that they can use in their attempts to regain control of Congress (and later the White House). They also want to be the ones to have the bragging rights that “they did something” for the Dreamers, and thus “earn” the Dreamers undying political support. Finally, they are making the specious argument that this proposal is “racist.”

I personally think that the Democrats are on the losing end of this issue.

The Democrats had control of both houses of Congress and the White House, and even though they slowly lost control of it all, did not even attempt to bring any type of solution for this issue. The Democrats have been roundly criticized for this.

Strike one…

It wasn’t until President Trump was elected did the Democrats issue a shrill, piercing call to “fix the Dreamer issue.” Ultimately, it led to the disastrous (for the Democrats) 3-day shutdown of the government. Calls from the Dreamers and their supporters labeling the Democrats as traitors has been near deafening.

Strike two…

The Democrats are not bargaining from a position of strength. They need to come to some agreement with President Trump and the Republicans. Otherwise, they will play obstructionist to their heart’s content and vote down any proposal. What will then happen is that President Trump and the Republicans can point to the Democrats and say “We wanted to provide a path to Citizenship for more than what the Democrats wanted, and they turned us down & spit in your eye for good measure!! We now have to follow the laws that Congress previously passed and have to deport you and your families.” The Dreamers and their supporters will not be happy by any stretch of the imagination.

Strike three… The Democrats are out – hopefully, permanently.

At least that’s how I see it. I wonder how this pans out…

Shutdown!

Last night, the Senate failed to pass a temporary spending bill that would keep the Federal government running. Here’s the immediate aftermath of that action:

The sun still came up.

No one has immediately keeled over & died as a result.

The lights are still on.

The Earth has not fallen into the sun.

In other words, dispite the dire predictions of Schumer, Pelosi, & other members of the WAH!* Party, the world and universe have not come to an end.

Dispite the lack of funding for “non-essential services,” I fully expect that the impact upon the average American to be minimal under the Trump Administration. This would stand in full contrast of the previous Obummer Administration, whose goal was to make it as painful as possible for the citizens so as to blame the Republicans for the inconvenience.

So what’s the issue? Here’s a good synopsis:

““Hostage-taking” is the term that was used in 2013 when Ted Cruz and a few other Republicans blocked government funding to try to force repeal of ObamaCare. You can’t deny people essential government services just because you didn’t get your way on some other policy! Now here we are, five years later, and Democrats are prepared to deny those same services because they haven’t gotten their way on a DREAM amnesty with essentially no strings attached.”  Allapundit @ Townhall.com

So this all comes down to what to do with the children of illegal immigrants who are here illegally, who are not citizens, and who are facing deportation in accordance to the laws of this country.

A question for the WAH! Party – Is this issue something that you want to hang your futures on?

The WAH! Party is in bad shape. They are heavily in debt as a result of the Obummer and Hildebeast campaigns. The apparent acrimony in the election of their co-chairs is still evident in their lack of fundraising. The treatment of Bernie is still rubbing a good portion of the Party members the wrong way. And the message that the co-chairs are sending out is appeals only to the leaches that depend upon the WAH! Party for sustenance – flyover country is not impressed. Last is that after the defeat of the Hildebeast, no one in the party is really positioned to make a run for the Presidency – they all have baggage that would send them to the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

Their solution is to push for the amnesty and full citizenship of the Dreamers. These children and young adults have come from countries where the government rules over the citizens, and the educational systems in this country has leaned toward Socialism for years. Should the Dreamers be granted citizenship with the resulting chain migration continue unabated, the WAH! Party would have a voter base of roughly 900,000+ to build upon. This is their long-term goal – a power play to get a their majority back and lock up the elections for decades to come.

This is the issue that the WAH! Party wants to shut the government down for – getting consessions for people who are essentailly criminals, putting their party ahead of the citizens of this country. Considering who they backed for the last election, perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised.

If anyone is paying attention, the WAH! Party does not have the American People rights and priveledges as part of their focus. It’s keeping themselves in power, and damned be the consequences to the United States.

Breitbart has this to say about the DREAM Act:

…working and middle-class Americans would be put in further competition for U.S. jobs against up to 3.5 million newly legalized foreign nationals. A recent report found that 1 in 5 illegal aliens given amnesty under the DREAM Act would end up on food stamps and nearly 1 in 7 would end up on Medicaid, further straining the social safety net for America’s poor.

And in the same article, here’s a partial quote (which I’ve seen from other sources) from Senator Dick Durban (D-IL):

“I’m focused on one thing — not that meeting — but on making sure that those who are being protected by DACA and eligible for the DREAM Act have a future in America. I am focused on that full time.”

Enough said.

End of Year

For some reason, I’m finding it very hard to sit down and write a post at this time of year. Usually, I like to take a look back at the year that is almost complete and review the impressions that it has made upon the country. This year, it’s a mixture of highs and lows. Let me explain.

The election and swearing in of Donald Trump as President of the United States was certainly a high point for several reasons. The big one (at least for me) was the rejection of the American People of the corrupt Democratic candidate as well as a thumb in the eye of the establishment politicians. The stock market has taken off as a result, the economy is up, and jobs (for those people looking for them) are becoming available as companies are becoming more optimistic about the future. In general, the country appears to be breathing a sigh of relief that President Trump is working out better than expected. Unless, of course, you’re a Leftist Democrat…

The Democrats are still bitching and moaning about President Trump’s election, and doing their damnedest to smear and otherwise demean the man. I still think that they are sore losers, and the shenanigans that they are pulling are wearing thin. The first of this smearing is the accusation the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to sway the election.

I’m finding it fascinating that in the months since the allegation was made, not one shred of evidence has been uncovered that directly links the campaign with the Russians. Of course, this means (at least to the Democrats) that there is a link that needs to be found and duly investigated. But since that time, several links to the Democratic Party’s campaign have been found (and recently, with the Green Party as well), but we’re supposed to ignore those. But I’m not surprised in some respects…

The recent discovery of links of Special Council Mueller being politically biased against the President along with several of his investigators is troubling at best. Any sane person would expect that Mueller would recuse himself immediately along with his team of investigators. Failing that, Attorney General Sessions should grow a spine, sack Mueller, and replace him with verified neutral & objective investigators. This is the only way to restore any form of credibility to a politically charged investigation.

The next smear is the continued allegation that President Trump is a sexual predator, pointing back to the leaked tape of what was supposed to be a semi-private comment to a reporter that. Now in my mind, there is a huge difference about talking about an act vs. actually committing that act. To the best of my knowledge, there is no credible evidence that President Trump did anything but talk. However…

There has come to light massive amounts of evidence that many Congresscritters and their supporters, mostly Democrat, having assaulted numerous women and covered it up (some with taxpayer hush money). If we want to go back to President Kennedy, his brother Ted, President Clinton, and Hollywood Mogul and Democratic supporter Harvey Weinstein, then the Democrats have absolutely no moral high ground to point fingers. Those incidents have proof, and are documented. I do expect, that these sorts of attacks will continue upon both President Trump and any Republican candidate since Roy Moore was defeated in Alabama during a special election among charges of sexual impropriety from 30+ years ago.

But let’s not worry about any kind of accountability for real crimes…

Why are people like Felonia von Pantsuit and her husband (with multiple accomplices) not being held accountable for the pay-to-play schemes such as the Uranium One scandal, using their foundation as a money-laundering business, real collusion with the Russians, and multiple other felonies such as lying to the FBI, destroying government property, national security violations, & so on? That is what the investigators should be focusing on, not something made up to cast doubt and focus attention elsewhere.

Moving on…

The Republican-controlled Congress failed in their campaign promise of repealing ObamaCare. The best excuse that I can find is that they didn’t expect Trump to win the election, and were caught flat-footed without any legislation ready to go. They certainly didn’t help themselves when proposing a half-assed bill that was sunk by members of their own party. Some of these morons will not be returning to Congress come mid-term elections, and are facing challengers from their own party for their seat. I personally think that they were expecting Felonia von Pantsuit to be elected, and they could position themselves as being the voice of reason against the evil successor to the first Black president, although I have my doubts that they would have a spine or the testicular fortitude to oppose the first woman president…

Now the Republicans are moving forward with a tax-reform bill that has passed the House and Senate, although there appears to be a couple of procedural hiccups as this post is being written. I fully expect the bill to be passed and signed into law by the President. From what I understand from the language that has been analyzed, it’s a mixed bag. Overall, I think it will be good for most Americans. The losers will be in high taxation states such as California and New York. Perhaps those voters need to look at and pay attention to what their state legislators are spending their hard-earned tax money on…

…Such as protection for illegal aliens…

The “cool” thing for cities and states to do to show their independence and disrespect for President Trump & the Federal government is to declare themselves as “sanctuary cities” or in the case of California, a “sanctuary state.” These mayors, governers and other officials are now using taxpayer money to clothe, house, and defend the deportation of people who violated Federal immigration laws (i.e., criminals). These officials tend not to discriminate between hard-core criminals and those just seeking a better life for themselves and their families. In other words, they are favoring criminals over the safety and well being of their citizens.

I can think of no better example of this that the case of Kathryn Steinle who was murdered (in my opinion) in San Francisco (a sanctuary city) by an illegal immigrant with multiple violations (including seven felonies). The immigrant, Garcia Zarate, was arrested and released from custody even though the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a detainer issued against him. Zarate late found a gun, discharged it, and the bullet killed Steinle. Zarate was later aquitted of all murder charges (including involuntary manslaughter). In other words, if San Francisco was not a sanctuary city and complied with the Federal detention order, an American citizen would still be alive.

Other examples can be found throughout the country – illegal immigrants with criminal records being released to later commit crimes of theft, DUI, and murder. All sanctioned by elected officials violating their oaths of office and the laws of this country.

Why, in the name of all that is Holy, do we allow our elected officials to protect criminals?

Folks, I could go on and on about the ills of chain immigration policies, DACA, the identity politics practiced by the Democratic Party, and the Left’s claims of being tolerant only to qualified same-thinking people, and so on, but that is more time that I just do not have for this year.

Instead, I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Where Do We Start? (Continued)

The hoopla over the past week over the illegal immigration issue and the supporters continued this past week, and probably will for a while.  It doesn’t matter if President Trump does exactly the same thing as his predecessors in ordering law enforcement to round up and deport illegal immigrants or not – his opponents will continue to oppose his every move, and call him every name in the book.

May I remind the members of the WAH! Partytm of what then President Clinton did through his AG Janet Reno with the following picture?

eg

And yet, only in California can an illegal act take precedence over public safety:

Image result for jerry brown spending plan vs damn

Enough said – moving on…

The WAH! Partytm continues it’s opposition to every nominee to President Trump’s Cabinet, delaying every appointment as long as possible.  Quite frankly, it’s disgraceful – in the Harvard-Harris poll provided exclusively by The Hill:

The survey found that 73 percent of voters want to see Democrats work with the president, against only 27 percent who said Democrats should resist Trump’s every move.

Enough already – your actions are an embarrassment to all Americans and diminish your Party’s credibility.

Fake News – defined as making up news stories to fit a particular agenda.  Literally hours after President Trump accused the Media of faking news in an unprecedented one-on-many unscripted news conference, the Associated Press published a news story that stated that the President would call up the National Guard to round up all illegal immigrants.  The story has been categorically denied by the White House, and has been debunked by several other sources as well.

Image result for abc nbc cbs cnn cartoon after new conference

And the Media wonders why the general public doesn’t believe a word they publish…

But the media has claimed it’s first victim – Michael Flynn – through leaks from the Intelligence Department.  As pointed out by President Trump in his news conference earlier this week, such actions are illegal, and would be investigated.

Last, a personal thought – As disgusting and tiresome as it may be, I do hope that the WAH! Partytm through their surrogate Progressive Liberal Democratic Party and supporting Media outlets continues their antics and p****s off every American from now until they lose every single office from the local to the state to the Federal level.  Perhaps then we’ll get rid of the cancer that is known as Progressivism.

Where Do We Start?

Over the past week, the number of protests has been staggering, the obstructionism by the Senate has been frustrating, and the rulings by the Ninth Circuit Court has been puzzling as well as being as far removed from all common sense as well as the United States legal code.

All of these people need to be members of the WAH! Party tm and be issued their diaper pins.

The protests have pretty well been centered around the issue of illegal immigration as well as allowing refugees from the Middle East into this country that cannot be vetted or checked for terrorist inclinations.  The Ninth Circuit Court basically gave legal standing in the courts to this last group even though they are not citizens of this country.

vetting

My take on this as well as many others is that the rulings were politically motivated, designed to delegitimize President Trump’s administration and Presidency.  What is most disturbing is that these people do not seem to understand that the safety and security of this country is needed to insure that they would continue to have the rights and privileges of United States’ citizens to voice their opinions.  To allow unfettered immigration to this country is akin to suicide.  Ronald Reagan stated:

“A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.” ― Ronald Reagan

This past week, ICE has been rounding up illegal immigrants with criminal records for deportation.  While some of the arrests have been heartbreaking, let’s remember the following:

View image on Twitter

Would you want to have any of these people living next to you much less in the same city as you and your family?  Would you want an immigrant that has not been vetted living next to you?  Considering the track record of illegal immigrants committing violent and sometimes horrific crimes, it is simply not worth the risk to using an “open border” policy.  Considering what has happened in Germany (and in the United States as well) with their policy of allowing virtually all refugees into their country, is it moral to sacrifice your own citizens to to prove some philosophical or political point?  To whit:

Related image

Obviously, there will be some terrorists posing as immigrants that will slip through the cracks, but that is absolutely no excuse not to try and determine who is a legitimate immigrant, refugee, or student, and who is not.  Which makes the Ninth Circuit Court’s decision even more egregious than what I originally thought –

“One of these days the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals may declare the Constitution unconstitutional” – Thomas Sowell, 2003

Are we a nation of laws, or are we a nation of personal whims and feelings fueled by insane politics?  Once we go down that road, this country is finished.

More on this later…

Unicorns and Rainbows – Part 4

The typical Progressive Liberal confuses me, and quite frankly, I think they are confused as well.  What they say and do are so contradictory to a rational line of thinking leaves me with multiple WTH moments.

This is the fourth and last installment of the series.

The typical Progressive Liberal politician always states their support for the Constitution and the laws of the United States…that is, as long as it is convenient and can be used to fulfill their personal and political agendas.  When the Constitution and the laws of the United States interfere with those same political and personal agendas, then those documents are now “out of date” and are duly ignored.

The same can be said of the Progressive Liberal defense of a person’s personal liberty to live life according to your belief system within the law.  That is true if you are a minority, non-Christian, gay or trans-whatever, on Welfare, or an illegal immigrant.  Otherwise, your treated as crap in the Progressive Liberal world.

The rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are constantly being challenged by the Progressive Liberals in both Congress and Supreme Courts, and being stripped by Executive Order from the President with nary a whimper from the People.  Indeed, there are some that cheer when a right has been infringed for “the public good.”

What has happened to this country?  Has all common sense and decency been cast aside for the political correctness insanity that seems to have invaded every nook and cranny of our lives?

Let’s first take the case of a high-level government employee, accountable to the President of the United States, willingly violated the laws and policies of the office by using an email address hosted on a private server of questionable security instead of the high-security email server provided by the government.  The evolving story of why this person used the private server is ludicrous at best, and is absolutely criminal no matter what excuse is being made – the office demands absolute accountability and high security in all communications.

.facebook_1434099725060

Next, take the case of the Executive Mandate by the President to not enforce the immigration laws of the United States.  Quite frankly, the immigration laws are not broken except by those people who violate them – it is the enforcement of those laws which is broken.  From the bottom to the top, these laws are being ignored or are being subverted by the various authorities who vowed to uphold them.  If the political will were exerted to enforce the laws from deportation to employment compliance, this issues would be a moot point.

Gay marriage was ruled by the Supreme Court to be legal in all fifty states.  In my opinion, the Federal Government via the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction in this matter as marriage is not a Federal matter per the Tenth Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

In other words, it is up to the States to define marriage, not the Federal Government.  The Court and Federal Government have overstepped their bounds.

.facebook_1436052100671

This past week’s story of a mentally ill, homosexual, racist, black man killing two of his former white co-workers focused on the gun and what could be done to stop gun violence.  Quite unlike the white, young racist who killed several church parishioners and their pastor in Charleston, where the focus was on not only the gun, but being white, the display of the Confederate battle flag, and his racism.  The Progressive Liberal agenda is telling when these two cases are compared side by side, and it just doesn’t make sense unless it is realized that the Progressive Liberal is more concerned about their agenda than the people that agenda affects.

really

The Progressive Liberal agenda is unrepentant in their opposition to the private ownership of firearms.  If possible, they would use any and all excuse and reason to disarm the People of the United States to “make us safe” when in actuality, the reverse would be true.  People would then be defenseless against the criminals that would surely prey upon them (look at the statistics in Australia and Great Britain for assaults, robberies, and rapes since their gun bans, and they are truly chilling).

.facebook_1437513102706

However, the Progressive Liberal agenda is in favor of guns being in the hands of the government, which is surprising since the Progressive Liberals decry the use of the lethal police force sometimes used when enforcing laws or when police are protecting themselves or civilians.  But wait, that’s only when used against a “protected class” of people…

This double-standard has been placed front and center over the past several years, leading to the latest in what I would call a racist group – Black Lives Matter – which has been calling for an all-out war against whites and police in social media.  This is nothing new – there have always been groups promoting one race over the other for years – some of them violent, other not.  But what about the thought that if any group or organization that promotes one group of people over another because of heritage or color or skin is racist, then there are a whole lot of groups that would fit into this category.  Consider the following:

.facebook_1436287229439            reverse racism

The Progressive Liberal does not want to hear dissent over their seemingly contradictory rhetoric even though they state that they are open minded.  Indeed, personal attacks and public shaming with a smattering of lawsuits follow challenges over their failed arguments in light of facts and other opinions.

“Liberals claim to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover there are other views.” – William F. Buckley

Quite frankly, I’m offended that the Progressive Liberal politician makes the presumptions that they know better how to run my life better than I do, that their opinion trumps mine, and that I’m an entitled person because I work hard & as a result, reasonably successful.  Considering that the majority of the Progressive Liberal politicians haven’t worked a day in their life without sucking up taxpayer dollars for their pay tells me that they haven’t the foggiest idea of what real life is all about.

I am also offended that the Progressive Liberal does not call themselves for what they really are:  They are a rebranded Socialist that have only done so to make themselves palatable to the People of the United States.  The President’s mentor teaches this:

.facebook_1434819893472

I leave you with these final thoughts for this series of posts:

The Liberal Progressive promote that their way is the best way, the way that will benefit everyone, a path to endless prosperity for all.  We will all live in peace and security under their benevolent, selfless leadership.  All will be as a fantasyland, full of unicorns leaping over rainbows, a virtual heaven on Earth.

Such are the thoughts of dreamers and philosophers who are disconnected from reality, and the self-delusions of the power-hungry.  All that leads down this path is destruction and misery.

The United States of America is unique in history, founded by revolution, providing a system of government that placed power to the people of that country instead of an all-powerful royalty or government.  However, this system is being subverted by powerful politicians and people behind the scenes that only see paths to power.  It is not only the Liberal Progressives that are responsible, but members of both political parties with their backers.  But it is the Liberal Progressives that are leading the charge.

Hope & Change, Fundamentally Transform, Spread the Wealth, and other catch phrases only serve to capture the public’s imagination to move forward to something better, blinding the public that there is nothing wrong with what we already have should our politicians quit acting like hammers looking for nails to pound.  Why must there be change when the change is worse?

The consequences of the changes wrought by the current President’s Administration and the Congressional sessions during his first term are beginning to be felt by many.  None of the people who voted for legislation detrimental to this country will ever be held personally accountable except by being voted out of office.

.facebook_1434704430760

We the People must take an intense interest in the people that we elect to office and the political process that is used to elect them.  They must constantly be reminded that they work the People that elected them, not their political party.  We the People have an obligation to review the actions of our elected representatives.  Remember –

Unicorns and Rainbows – Part 3

The typical Progressive Liberal confuses me, and quite frankly, I think they are confused as well.  What they say and do are so contradictory to a rational line of thinking leaves me with multiple WTH moments.

This is the third installment of the series.

The Progressive Liberal seems to have a soft spot in their hearts for the poor, the downtrodden, the unemployed.  They have spoken of their undying support to “help” the unfortunate among us.  While this is a noble sentiment, the Progressive Liberal seems to be at odds with what they promise and what they deliver.

Since the Johnson administration declared a “War on Poverty” in the 1960s, has there been much change?  Billions have been spent on this “war” and poverty is still in the United States.  Yes, the rate has risen and fallen over the years, usually tied to the strength of the nation’s economy, but it has not fallen below 11% from the data I have been able to find.

The billions of tax dollars has been spent for jobs training programs (for those who sign up for them), and Welfare/Medicaid programs.  Over the years, there has been on/off requirements for people who sign up for Welfare enroll in jobs training and drug tests to weed out those people who are not serious in turning their lives around.  Depending on who was in elected office, those requirements were either enforced or removed, and the Welfare roles declined or increased accordingly.  Please note that relaxing the requirements was usually done in the name of compassion.  Remember this last statement…

Likewise, the unemployment rate has also risen and fallen with the strength of the economy.  When the economy is strong, the unemployment rate is low.  Likewise, when the economy is weak, the unemployment rate is high, and the unemployment benefits are at record levels.  Also note that with the last downturn in the economy, employment benefits were extended to a record 48 months (4 years!).  Unemployment rates are dropping, but with the way the data is gathered, it isn’t known if people are finding new jobs or are just dropping off the unemployment roles & not getting new jobs.  With the economy as sluggish as it is, I would think it is the latter.

We now find ourselves in an economy that is barely (and I mean barely) growing.  And what do the Progressive Liberal politicians want to do in the name of compassion (among others)?

Embrace the undocumented worker!

In a time of where Americans are unemployed or underemployed, the Progressive Liberal political elite wish to welcome and legitimize the illegal aliens that are in this country, and encourage others to do the same.

This is madness!  This is insanity!  Not only will this take away job opportunities for Americans, but increase the burden upon the Welfare system when these people cannot find jobs!

Yes, I have heard the arguments that these people will do the jobs that Americans will not do.  I have heard the pleas that these people are looking for a better life for their families and themselves.  Fine – I agree to some extent – but let them come in legally!!

The reality of the above is to keep people on Welfare and dependent upon the Progressive Liberal for their sustenance, and to introduce another class of people into the world of depending upon the Progressive Liberal for their livelihood.

give a man a fish

Ironic Lesson

Note:  By no means am I against people who have no other means of support to receive government assistance.  I am, however, against the pond scum who make it their mission in life to scam the system to receive my taxpayer dollars for their livelihood & make no attempt to better themselves nor to earn an honest living.

The Border

First of all, it’s been over two months since the last serious post.  An unexpected death in the family and a work schedule from the lower depths of Hell has not been conducive to writing.

During this time, there have been many events that have happened worldwide.  As much as I would like to comment on them all in depth, that is almost impossible.  So let’s address the situation on the Southern border of the United States.

Illegal immigration to the United States has always been a problem.  It really does not matter which political party is in power – the posturing has been immense, the actions little.  The current “crisis” is only the latest in a long line of political inaction and dithering.

Let’s keep in mind that there is very little wrong with the current immigration laws.  A person must apply to immigrate to the United States, be vetted, and go through the process to become a citizen of the United States.  What is wrong is the administration and enforcement of the current laws.

Both political parties try to cozy up to the Hispanic community because they represent the majority of the illegal immigrants coming into this country.  For example, the term “illegal immigrants” has been changed to “undocumented worker” to change a politically incorrect term to something softer.  If the term is softer, then there is more leniency in enforcing laws because the laws can then be seen as unjust.  So now the “undocumented workers” are now portrayed as heroic people defying all odds and an unjust system to secure a better life for themselves and their children.

The “crisis” at the Southern border is thus portrayed as a humanitarian issue.  It is not.  It is a crisis that is a quest for political power by the political parties by raising the issue every election cycle.  The parties posture for and pander to the free immigration crowd for votes.  The issue drags on and on, and does not end because once the politicians are elected, the issue is ignored until the next election cycle.

From my perspective, our politicians put the interests of their political party first, and the security of the country last.  The “crisis” of immigration reform is not about solving the problem, but promoting the problem for votes.  The result is that the security of our country is at risk.  Consider the following…

In another part of the world, ISIS has come to power through horrific means.  Their stated goal is to convert the rest of the world to their brand of Islam by the point of the sword and gun, and vow death to any unbeliever or those that oppose them.  If taken at their word, they have stated that they will bring their quest to the United States.

Now up until the graphic death of James Foley, our media and political elite has mostly dismissed these threats.  But after the execution of one of their own, the media lost their collective minds.  After all, aren’t journalists exempt from such treatment?  Which reminds me of the following excerpts from a post in 2006:

I watched the Glenn Beck special in which Islamic Extremism was featured. The images presented in this program as created by the Muslim clergy, news, and entertainment media were most disturbing. It’s not easy to watch crowds being whipped into a frenzy, chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.” Nor is it reassuring that people considered to be “infidels” are not considered to be people, but must be killed wherever they are found. And let’s not talk about what they really think of the Jewish people and Israel simply because it is so dehumanizing as to be ridiculous.

What bothers me the most is that our media ignores the reality of this threat. We do not hear of or read about very often the anti-American & anti-Israeli rhetoric, calling for the destruction of our respective countries. Nor is it brought to the forefront that they truly hate us with all of their hearts, and wish nothing but death for us…

…Whether we like it or not, I believe that the Islamic terrorists are going to do their damnest to make this into a religious war from whatever it can be called now. They will use the classic good vs. evil argument, an us-vs.-them conflict in the name of a jihad (religious war, for those of you in Rio Linda). They will plot, plan, and execute attacks that will cause large numbers of casualties. And the elitist idiots among us will wring their hands crying, “We don’t understand! We were talking!” Understand this, you Brie-eaters – there are people in the world that want to kill you just for the reason that you exist!!

Does any of the above from almost six years ago sound familiar?  It should, because that is exactly what is happening today.  ISIS is declaring war on the rest of the unbelieving world in the name of their god.

Now we have that established, where do you think that they will come into this country to attack from within?  If you have guessed our semi-unprotected Southern border, you would be correct.  This is infiltration 101 and Sun Tzu rolled up into one – go where your enemy is weakest and strike hard to confuse, disorient, disable, and discourage.

The Administration of the President of the United States is responsible for enforcing the Laws of the United States as passed by Congress.  The laws concerning immigration enforcement are no different from any other laws.  However, this President has chosen to loosen or ignore various provisions of the immigration laws, and has further directed through Executive Orders (of which the legality is in question) to alter said laws.  The result is increased activity along our border, overwhelming what few Border Patrol Agents are there.  And the Administration’s response is to ship the illegal immigrants all over the country for “processing”, for which very few will ever show up in court.

Insanity…

Our government via the Office of the President with the consent of Congress is responsible for securing this nation from foreign powers, and this includes preventing invasion & infiltration by non-citizens over our borders.  This is not a humanitarian or immigration issue, rather, this is a security issue.  This country cannot have a open or porous border and expect to continue to thrive.

Stop to think about this for a minute:  Our economy is on the ropes, and is barely recovering.  There are many people either unemployed or underemployed looking for better job opportunities to return to the standard of living before everything tanked.  And now our government, for “humanitarian reasons”, wants to toss another five to ten million people onto the unemployment and job-searching rolls?  Is that insane and/or incompetent?  Or as I’ve stated, an attempt to garner political power?

But at what price?  Allowing terrorists free passage in addition to the economic hit is not in the best interests of this country by any stretch of the imagination.

This is why the midterm elections are so critical this year.  This is why we need to support and vote people into office that will stop the insanity.  The second part of this is to hold them accountable to their campaign promises.  Otherwise, I fear that this country of ours will be irreparably damaged.

A Rant, Perhaps?

Hello, Friends.  Long time, no post…

I’ve been in somewhat of a funk the past few weeks.  I look at the political shenanigans that our elected officials have been up to, and it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop anytime soon.  I know that these clowns aren’t going to stop themselves, and I really have doubts that the American people can or have the willpower to put the brakes on our government’s constant intrusion into our lives.

First on the list is the rapid desertion of the political elite from ObamaCare because it would be a financial burden upon their staffs and themselves.  Really!?!?  So the rest of us are stuck paying for what YOU have enacted into law and then exempted yourselves from?

What is so reprehensible besides our politicians hanging the common person out to dry is that the well connected political supporters are being exempted as well.  Do you remember the outrage of the various Unions when they found out that ObamaCare will replace their health-care insurance coverage with something less comprehensive and more expensive?  The more and more exemptions that are granted means more and more of the costs will be borne by you and I.  But that doesn’t appear to be sinking in to various groups – all they see is this:

What we’re getting is this:

Furthermore, the politicians muck up almost everything they touch.  The delays implementing ObamaCare indicate that this is not legislation that was well-thought out.  But then again, what else could be expected from legislation that was over 1,000 pages long, had not been read before the vote, was passed by one political party without a vote from the other political party, and in the words of the then Speaker of the House, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

Let’s be realistic:  The Federal Government is not charged with providing services like healthcare or phones to the People.  Quite frankly, it’s not even supposed to provide welfare or Social Security.  If you do not believe me, then kindly point it out in the Constitution or in the Amendments.

Next on the list is this – Do any of you remember this statement?

“I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic.  We need to stand up and say we’re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.” – Hillary Clinton

Of course, Mrs. Clinton was speaking about President Bush’s administration, but isn’t it ironic that we now have an African-American in the highest office of the land, and any criticism of the President’s actions or comments are met with charges of racism?  I will state that politics is a dirty, dirty profession, but this tops the list of stupidity – there are only so many times the race card can be played before it loses it’s effectiveness.

But let us also consider the following (from the post Race Card Politics):

The Liberals and supporters of President Obama do understand that people, the ordinary citizens that elected them, are concerned about the issues, and no longer trust the politicians.  ….  We are seeing them for the political hacks that they are, and that their sycophants in the media are no better.  The change that was promised is coming from the citizens, and not from the empty promises made by the politicians.  And you know something – that scares the piss out of them because they are losing control!

Their response is to increase the number and frequency of racist accusations.  And we are getting pissed at them for doing it.  Playing the race card multiple times distracts and misdirects everyone away from the issues.  But it is losing its effect – the voters are catching on to this overuse of playing the race card directed at people with legitimate concerns.

We The People are angry at President Obama not for the color of his skin, but for the direction of the path that his policies and proposals are leading this country.  He knows it, his supporters know it, and yet they continue to play the race card indiscriminately.

While President Obama and his supporters are accusing their opponents of being racists, they are racist themselves.  Their words during the Professor Gates & Martin-Zimmerman incidents, and the lack of comments for the killings of an Australian student and a World War II veteran by African American teens is telling that they are not as color-blind as they would have us believe.  Indeed, they rush to one side of the story, and not the other.  That, my friends, is reprehensible as well as racist.

Last on my rant list for this post is the constant breaking of laws by our own government, particularly by the Administration.  Let’s take the following examples into consideration:

“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” – Amendment V, United States Constitution

However, four American citizens have been killed in drone strikes since 2009 without said due process of law.  One man, the President, has taken it upon himself to be judge, jury, and executioner.  Yes, these people were involved in terrorist activities.  However, it sets a dangerous precedent that a political official can order the death of any American citizen.  Yes, the Attorney General has stated that drone strikes would not be used domestically, but that’s now.  What about the future, and a so-called “emergency situation”?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” – Amendment IV, United States Constitution

The recent scandals over IRS and NSA intrusions into American’s privacy is cause enough for people to be wary of their government even before ObamaCare demands that our health-care information is to be released into government hands.  The questions asked of our personal lives and health to be placed into databases alongside our financial data is too much for me to be comfortable with.  We Americans have an expectation of privacy from our government.  However, the recent scandals of various personnel having access and using it for political persecution should concern every American enough to demand that such actions decease & desist with all collected information to be destroyed.

The Obama Administration has been picking and choosing which laws to enforce, and which to ignore.  I an email from the White House in response to an email sent over eight weeks ago concerning immigration reform.  Read this excerpt and tell me that this isn’t representative of this Administration enforcing only the laws that promote their political agenda:

On June 15, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security announced it would allow eligible young people who do not present a risk to our national security or public safety to apply for temporary relief from deportation proceedings and apply for work authorization.  This is not a path to citizenship, and it is not a permanent fix—only Congress can provide that.  It is a temporary measure to allow us to focus our resources wisely while giving a degree of relief and hope to talented, driven, and patriotic young people who are American in every way but on paper.

In other words, students who have outstayed their visas, or those who are otherwise in this country illegally, can stay in this country.  Just like the Boston Bombers, they can probably also end up on Welfare too…

Our freedoms are under assault by the power-hungry political elite.  Until more Americans wake up and understand that the politicians as a whole do not have the American’s peoples best interests first and foremost in their agendas, it will get much, much worse.
