Other Thoughts

Yes, I’ll admit to having a moment or two of schadenfreude watching the Liberals lose their minds over the election of Donald Trump.  Now I’m more than a bit annoyed.

Incivility appears to be the soup de jour of the political Left.  Anything from protests & riots to death threats to outright calls for the President-Elect to resign.  Announcements by the President-Elect for appointments to his cabinet are met with unsubstantiated charges of racism and other accusations.  Even the Vice-President-Elect is heckled and booed at a theater.

For some reason, I cannot for the life of me remember any similar actions on the part of Conservatives or Republicans when Obama was elected.

The political and progressive Left are throwing what I would call a full-blown hissy-fit tantrum.  They have been in charge for the past eight years, lording it over the opposition without even trying to compromise, and they absolutely do not like that their chosen flawed candidate was defeated (for the second time) by a person with no political experience.  They are in shock that Felonia von Pantsuit went down in flames, and haven’t a clue why.  Perhaps this should help:

Clinger Tshirt

Perhaps this is where the politicians of both parties need to understand that the American in “fly-over” country is tired of being talked down to, ignored, and generally screwed over.  These are but a few reasons why Trump was elected – we’re tired of the career politicians pandering for votes and not representing the interests of the American People.  Ramming through Obamacare amid public opposition is but one example.

Perhaps this is what the political system has needed – an outsider to come along and shake things up.  If Trump puts forth an agenda that is obviously for the American People, but the political elites of one or both parties block the agenda, fully expect the rise of third-party candidates to supplant the two main parties in power and support.

This is a short post for this week.  Hopefully, I’ll be out of the food-coma by next weekend to post another one.

Post Election Thoughts

To say that I was pleased to see Donald Trump defeat the Hildebeast for the Presidency would be an understatement.  As readers of this blog know, I was not a fan of the Democratic nominee for a plethora of reasons.

What is so surprising (or maybe not) is that over 60 million people voted for her.  This is despite the admissions of the Hildebeast of using a private email server for State Department business, which is illegal to start with, and allegations of using her position as Secretary of State for influence peddling using the Clinton Foundation as a money laundering entity.  As stated before, should we not elect people to the highest positions of government that have demonstrated integrity and do not have multiple scandals associated with them?

The Hildebeast had help – the Media – covering for her and attacking Trump.  We The People have had enough of the Media skewing the news coverage in favor of one extremely flawed candidate.  I think that the results of the election can be summed up by the following:

Dewey

Media War

But there are those who do not see it that way.  There are protests and riots by the same people who have preached love, patience, and acceptance simply because they did not get their way.  I’ll admit that when Obummer was elected not once but twice, I was upset and may have shed a tear or two because I knew what his election was going to do to this country.  I also like to reminisce on the protests that we Conservatives did when the elections were over:

2012 Riots

That’s right – there weren’t any.  We accepted the results and vowed to soldier on.  We didn’t collapse in on ourselves needing safe spaces, Play-Doh,  and participation awards to make us feel better.  We didn’t go on crying jags and threaten the President-Elect because we didn’t like the results of the election.  We didn’t protest (much) and go on property destroying riots like a bunch of maniacs.  To the perpetually offended sour-grapes out there, I have this to say:

Suck it up, Buttercups.  Your antics only show that you are a bunch of immature whiners that have absolutely no business in the serious activity of voting for who will govern this country.  Grow up!

I’m sorry if I’m not more sympathetic to those who are upset that Trump won and Felonia von Pantsuit lost.  I have watched President Obummer disrespect and tear apart this country, and the Hildebeast promised to do much the same and more.  Quite frankly, I’m pleased to see that there is a chance that things will get better under Trump.

Only time will tell – Now the real work begins for the President-Elect.

My 2-Cents Worth…

…and I’ve probably got change coming…

Like you, I can speculate with the best of them, from rational rantings to tin-hat-society way-out-there-in-space conspiracies, on what’s going to happen in this year’s election.  And like you, I haven’t a clue as to the outcome, but I do know what should not happen for the good of the American People.

The Hildebeast cannot win.

For countless years, people have been complaining about the corruption of politicians, and yet when presented with in-your-face proof that Felonia Von Pantsuit is the most obviously corrupt politician ever to run for the office of President, will still vote for her.  The polls state that she is not trusted by a majority of the American people, and yet still maintaining a small lead over her Republican opponent.  I would like to gently remind those people who complain about the political corruption and are still voting for the Hildebeast –

It is absolutely unrealistic and insane to expect change when you keep voting for the same corrupt politicians.

While Trump isn’t perfect by any means, he’s a damn sight better than the Hildebeast.  I already know that if he is elected, both Houses of Congress will hold him accountable for his policies and actions because both Democrats and Republicans cannot stand him.  He would most likely be a one-term President (a place-holder) unless the American People benefit immensely from the policies he institutes in the four years after his election.

If the Hildebeast is elected, she will get a pass on almost anything she does, and We The People will suffer immensely.  All one has to do is look at the history of her scandals, past and present, to know that she it in it for herself and her agenda, and damned be anyone that gets in her way.  And forget about here being indicted after being elected (or maybe even not) – she’ll either be pardoned by the outgoing O’Bummer or use her executive power to make it all go away.

And we’ve seen what the Democrats will do if they get a majority – pass more disasters like Obamacare that solve nothing, give the government more power over our lives, and screw us over in the process.

So whatever you need to do to get yourself through voting Republican this year – an adult beverage, clothespins, etc… – do not vote for the Hildebeast or any of her Democrat minions.

*** UPDATE ***

What follows is a post from Constitutio Fidelis titled “Will the Republic Survive One More Election?

This article is written to convince you, the reader, that the Democratic candidate MUST NOT WIN the 2016 election for President of the United States of America.

It does not matter whether you are a Democrat or Republican, Libertarian or Bernie supporter, never-Trumper or a stay at home protest voter. It doesn’t matter who the Democratic candidate is, whether Hillary Clinton or some replacement if she somehow does not finish the race. The bottom line is the Democratic candidate MUST NOT WIN.

The United States is NOT a democracy. It is a representative republic. The people do not vote on each law at the national level. They do not write laws directly. The people elect representatives and the chief executive to do that work and handle the day-to-day operation of the Federal government. The elected officials are replaced or continue then at the will of the people at each election.

That form of government is at stake in 2016. We are on the brink. This election is different from any presidential election the country has ever had. A non-reversible change will occur if the Democratic candidate wins in 2016. Our three branches of government will continue in show only but will be converted into an effective tyranny.

But how will this happen?

As we all should know but some may not, our representative republic was created as three branches of government with what we call a “system of checks and balances.”

Here it is in simple terms.

The president is the day-to-day executive, running the military, representing the government internationally, and managing Federal operations.

The Congress writes laws and approves budgets, taxation, and treaties. The president can veto their laws, and the Congress can, in turn, override the president’s veto and other actions.

The third branch is the Supreme Court. It does not stand for election but consists of nine members appointed for life in order to provide a level of stability and immunity from electoral politics. The president and Congress check the power of the Supreme Court by being the ones who appoint its members and remove its members if necessary. The Supreme Court checks the power of the president and Congress by being able to overturn virtually anything they do.

It is a simple and ingenious system created by the founders of the United States. They were leery of creating an all powerful Federal government. Having just overthrown a tyrant king, they wanted a system that could never devolve into tyranny.

In reality there is a FOURTH branch of the republic that exists. It is the foundation that everything else depends on. Its destruction will clear the way to a very rapid descent into tyranny.

This fourth branch is the Constitution of the United States. The constitution is how the founders established the other three branches and the checks and balances as described above. It governs what the other three branches can and cannot do and legitimizes their power over the people.

The Constitution is not a “living document” as the political elite would have us believe. It says what it says and was meant to function as though set in stone. Yet, it is subject to checks and balances too. The president and the Supreme Court are meant to be obedient servants to and defenders of the Constitution as set forth in the Constitution itself. The Congress too is subject to the Constitution. But the Congress, the states, and the people have several options to actually change the “set in stone” words of the Constitution if deemed necessary. This is designed to be a difficult thing to do, requiring overwhelming support at the different stages of the process.

The key point here is that the Constitution establishes the power of the other three branches and governs them absolutely. But, not being in human form, just mere words on paper, it cannot actually do anything to enforce its power. In practice, it relies on the Supreme Court to do that.

When the Supreme Court decides to completely and permanently ignore the Constitution, then the Constitution will effectively cease to exist. At that point, the Supreme Court becomes the ultimate power and can sanction and uphold any action by the president or Congress, or strike down any such action.

An alliance of the majority of the 535 members of Congress and the majority of the nine members of the Supreme Court can rule over the people any way they choose. Elections can be reduced to a Soviet style event for show only, manipulated to achieve the desired outcome every time. The president can be limited and overruled at will. And, if the president is part of this alliance, the descent into tyranny becomes absolute and complete. A tyranny by 545 people is still a tyranny.

The Supreme Court now sits with 8 members instead of 9. Four of these members are solidly there for one reason and one reason only: not to uphold the constitution but to sanction and further the will of their Democratic Party masters. The very next appointee, to fill the vacancy recently left by the death of Justice Scalia, can provide the fifth Democratic Party puppet justice, giving them the majority needed to begin the absolute destruction of the fourth branch of government, the Constitution. This, in turn, is the beginning of tyranny and the end of the republic.

The president elected in 2016 will choose a new member of the Supreme Court. Yes, the appointee must be approved by Congress, but we all know that if the Democratic candidate wins she (or he) will get the chosen appointee eventually. A Democratic president is simply never going to nominate a defender of the Constitution, and the Republicans in Congress will not hold the vacancy open for four to eight years waiting for a president who will appoint one. So, the next president will fill that vacancy, period.

In addition to that, of the four members of the Supreme Court who, for the most part, still uphold the Constitution, one or more will likely be replaced during the term of the president elected in 2016. If that president is the Democratic candidate, then the process above will be repeated to fill such vacancies and create a super majority of puppet justices that will never be undone in time to save the Republic.

Whether you, the reader, are a loyal Democrat, a Republican, a Libertarian, or even a Socialist, the absolute rule of this nation by a majority of 545 people with no more checks and balances will not serve your vision for the country. These rulers will be unaccountable to the people in every way. The only sense of order and power will be theirs. Whenever that kind of absolute power has existed in the history of this world, it has never benefited the people or freedom. It always ends badly, if it ends at all.

This is not a partisan issue. The problem is those thirsty for such power have a near total hold on the free press and the Democratic Party. The press is not a watchdog working for the people any longer. And, the Democratic Party is not the “party of the little guy” any more. These two are simply in it for their power and that alone. No principles are left except for public manipulation purposes. No matter what you believe in, these people are NOT your champions and defenders. Their team must win, and that is all that matters to them.

Sadly, the Republican party consists of many who would rather be a part of that team than to see it defeated. As illogical as it is, they actually see a role for themselves in this coming system of absolute post-Constitutional power.

How do we ultimately stop this? I do not know. It will take time and will require the people to come to their senses. This election is not about stopping it for good. It is well under way and too massive to stop cold in its tracks.

The 2016 election is simply about not reaching the point of no return. If the Democrat wins and controls the Supreme Court, the Constitution is gone.

Therefore, the only issue, the single issue of this election is that the Democratic candidate, whoever it is, MUST NOT WIN the presidency in 2016.

As much as you might disagree with his stand on many things, it is fair to say that the Libertarian candidate for president certainly would not be a part of the cabal to lock down control of the Supreme Court. The problem is with so many loyal Democratic and Republican party voters, there is simply ZERO CHANCE the Libertarian candidate will win the Presidency in 2016. ZERO! It is a great fantasy if you want to have it, but it is not within the realm of possibility. As such, it does not provide a means of insuring that the Democratic candidate does not win.

The same is true of all the other lesser party options that exist with similar or even smaller support than the Libertarian candidate.

For all his unarguable flaws, for all the crazy circumstances that have brought us to him, Donald Trump is the ONLY candidate that has a non-zero chance of stopping a Democratic victory in 2016.

You can hate him. You can disagree with him. You can not be in his party. You can say he is a nut and inexperienced. It does not matter. He will not nominate puppet Supreme Court justices for the powers of tyranny and he has at least a chance of winning the election. That is all that matters now.

This is not like other election where we have to choose the lesser of two evils; hold our noses and vote. I truly believe the wrong choice this time, the worse of the two evils, is the final straw.

If you believe in the republic of the United States of America and want it to continue, you need to put aside everything else and vote for Donald Trump. He is not my desired candidate. He has a lot of weaknesses. And, to be fair, he is an accomplished man in the terms of this world. But, however much I agree with him on some things and disagree on others, he must win for this nation to avoid reaching the point of no return.

We can deal with any issues that come up during Trump’s term. What you oppose about him, you can fight through the normal political processes. But, if we go over the brink to tyranny, there will be no chance to turn it back. A Trump victory is not the cure. He is not the conservative champion many of us want. He is not the devil his opponents fear. He is a means to buy us more time to continue the political process; to make our cases liberal or conservative, libertarian or socialist.

Americans are routinely polled as saying the country is going down the wrong road. In November of 2016, you help choose whether we make the final turn down the final wrong road or keep looking for the right road.

Reading Material

This past week has been fairly stressful and busy, so I haven’t had time to write posts that make any sense.  Fortunately, there are several columnists that have written on the topics that were on the subject list.

In the third and final debate, the Hildebeast got it absolutely wrong on both the Supreme Court’s decisions on Citizen’s United and Heller.  Citizen’s United wasn’t about campaign financing, and Heller certainly wasn’t about protecting toddlers from guns.  Read Steve Chapman’s articleClinton Is a Threat to the 2nd Amendment – and the 1st” for more.

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board agrees in their article “Hillary’s New Constitution” (summarized by Townhall’s Matt Vespa).  The Hildebeast’s Supreme Court would ignore the Constitution and render decisions of political and social justice.  Which means that any rights of the People in the Constitution and the Amendments are now subject to the whims of the political party in charge.  Make no mistake – whoever is elected as President will nominate the next Supreme Court Justice for life, and this will make or break the civil rights of this country.

How or why people are still voting for the Hildebeast after the many scandals, past and present, bewilders me.  We should be electing the best qualified person to the highest office in the land, not one that dodges and weaves around political and personal minefields.  Bruce Blalosky’s “I Don’t Recall, I Am Not Responsible, But Vote for Me for President” shows perfectly why a person with a supposedly stellar resume is ultimately disqualified for any political office, whether it be President or Dogcatcher.

Which now leads into trustworthiness.  The Hildebeast doesn’t have it.  She has been caught lying about lies that she told to cover up other lies. (which begs the question – do two wrongs make a right?  She seems to think so.).  I don’t trust her, and neither does Paul Jacob in his article, “The Once and Futures Queen”, Derek Hunter in his article “Why I Now Feel Compelled To Vote For Trump”, or Howard Hyde’s article “Hillary’s Bright Shining Lies”.

If the Hildebeast isn’t trustworthy, then neither is the media nor the Justice Department.

The media is supposed to be the gatekeepers of truth, exposing government and political malfeasance no matter which political party is involved.  This is apparent in the disparity of coverage between the very real scandals of the Hildebeast, her Foundation, the DNC, and those supposed scandals involving Trump.  An eye-opening article by Calrice Feldman “The Incestuous Left and Those Who Provide Cover for Them shows that the media and others ignore what the Progressive Left (led by the Hildebeast) is doing to the American People.

The Justice Department, once looked upon as a non-political entity within the Government, has had that image shattered.  I remember watching FBI Director Comey lay out a perfect case for the Hildebeast’s Federal violations with using a private server with classified emails only to state that no charges would be filed.  Only a few days earlier, Attorney General Lynch privately met with the Hildebeast’s husband Slick Willie, and we can only speculate what deal or deals were made.  The willful, shameful behavior is continuing with the revelations by WikiLeaks and the Project Veritas videos.  Thomas Lifson has a short article (“FBI and DoJ are ignoring evidence of crimes in Project Veritas Action videos”) which is a quick read on the DOJ’s apparent bias.

Invariably, in the course of discussion, Trump’s recorded words, crass beyond belief, will be brought up as proof that he is sexist, misogynic, and a sexual predator in waiting, totally unfit for the office of President.  Considering that the Hildebeast’s husband did far worse (actions, not words) before, during, and after his two terms in office tears up the moral card that the Hildebeast’s campaign wants to play.  A. Castellitto had this to say:

Trump’s misbehavior is trivial compared to the Clintons’ record of criminality. No amount of extortion, assault, manipulation or deception is beyond the pale for those with the entitled ambition and self anointed superiority of the ruling class regardless of political affiliation. Political Correctness is just a cheap, smarmy and almost religious attempt to make the sin of straight talk as bad if not worse than the sin of nonconformity.  It’s merely the Marxists’ attempt to make all evils relative, so they may be rid of their guilt and culpability. Should sexual impropriety be judged in the same vein as violent rape? Maybe Bill Clinton could answer that.

Yesterday, Trump gave a speech at Gettysburg, PA, in which he laid out his plans for his first 100 days in office.  Timothy P. Farrell’s “20 reasons to vote for Donald Trump” is a perfect article to read as to why to vote for Trump.  Take both of these in context and compare to what the Hildebeast has in store for us, and there is no comparison.  The Hildebeast cannot become our Felon in Chief.

Besides, if the Cubs can make it to the World Series, Trump can make it to the White House.

Go Cubs!

A Facebook Rant

This came across my wife’s Facebook feed – don’t know if it’s true or not, but it states exactly how I feel about the Republican’s squishiness in the face of the Democrat’s crap.

This MAN IS SAYING EXACTLY, WHAT I WOULD SAY, HE IS 100% CORRECT. JUST READ THIS AND LET IT SINK IN NO MATTER WHO YOU VOTE FOR

From the time I was able to vote I voted Republican. I am now 69 years old.

Recently I received a questionnaire and request for money from the Republican Party and strongly agree with every question, as I have since Obama was elected.

Unfortunately the one question that was missing is: What have the Republicans done for the American people?

We gave you a majority in the House and Senate, and you never listened to us. Now you want our money, my money, more money. You should be more concerned about our votes, not our money.

You are the establishment which means all you want is to save your jobs and line your pockets.

Well guess what? It‘s not going to happen.

TRUMP hasn‘t asked for a dime.

You might think we are fools because you feel Trump is on a self-destruct course, but look beyond Washington and listen to the masses. Nobody has achieved what he has, especially in the state of New York.

Here‘s why I want Trump. Yes, he‘s a bit of an ass; yes, he ‘s an egomaniac; but I don‘t care.

The country is a mess because politicians suck.

The Republican Party is two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere.

I want it all fixed!

I don‘t care that Trump is crude. I don‘t care that he insults people. I don‘t care that he has changed positions. I don‘t care that he‘s been married 3 times. I don‘t care that he fights with Megan Kelly and Rosie O’Donnell. I don‘t care that he doesn‘t know the name of some Muslin terrorist.

Our country has become weak, bankrupt. Our enemies are making fun of us. We are being invaded by illegals. We are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hassid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don‘t even recognize the country we were born and raised in, “AND I JUST WANT IT FIXED.” And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.

I‘m sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and sick of illegals. I just want this thing fixed. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn‘t have lobbyist money controlling him; he doesn‘t have political correctness restraining him; all you know is that he has been very successful; a good negotiator; he has built a lot of things; and, he ‘s also not a politician. And, he says he‘ll fix it. And, I believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.

I don‘t care if the guy has bad hair.

You are welcome to pass this on, or not.

The Same Dance, Only Worse

Eleven years ago this month, I started writing in a personal blog.  Looking back at one of the first posts, I ran across this statement:

How a President and his wife (now a Senator) were able to avoid jail while they committed perjury is beyond me except for “connections.”

How things haven’t changed…

It’s also interesting that eleven years ago, Trump had a reality show, he made some pretty bad statements that were recorded, and he was a Democrat, and this was all after a President was impeached for lying about having inappropriate sexual relationships with an intern.

I cannot and will not defend Donald Trump for his foul mouth – he is the one that owns that particular chunk of bad manners.  He has made public apologies, and that should be the end of it…except it wont be.

The Media, always drawn to any sleaze involving Conservative or Republicans while ignoring the Democrats or Progressive/Liberals for similar or worse actions, will milk this for all its worth while looking for anything else to smear Trump.  It won’t matter how much the Hildebeast is exposed for the shady dealings, lies, and outright treason that she has committed, the Media will continue to shield her as much as possible.

And I cannot for the life of me understand why.  I can speculate, but I do not understand why the Media would support a person that does not respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the laws of this land.  For instance –

During the second debate, both candidates were asked “What would you prioritize as the most important aspect of selecting a Supreme Court justice?”  The answer (in part) from the Hildebeast was telling where her priorities and loyalties lie:

“This is one of the most important issues in this election. I want to appoint Supreme Court justices who understand the way the world really works, who have real-life experience, who have not just been in a big law firm and maybe clerked for a judge and then gotten on the bench, but, you know, maybe they tried some more cases, they actually understand what people are up against.

“Because I think the current court has gone in the wrong direction. And so I would want to see the Supreme Court reverse Citizens United and get dark, unaccountable money out of our politics. Donald doesn’t agree with that.

“I would like the Supreme Court to understand that voting rights are still a big problem in many parts of our country, that we don’t always do everything we can to make it possible for people of color and older people and young people to be able to exercise their franchise. I want a Supreme Court that will stick with Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose, and I want a Supreme Court that will stick with marriage equality.

“I want a Supreme Court that doesn’t always side with corporate interests. I want a Supreme Court that understands because you’re wealthy and you can give more money to something doesn’t mean you have any more rights or should have any more rights than anybody else.

“So I have very clear views about what I want to see to kind of change the balance on the Supreme Court. And I regret deeply that the Senate has not done its job and they have not permitted a vote on the person that President Obama, a highly qualified person, they’ve not given him a vote to be able to be have the full complement of nine Supreme Court justices. I think that was a dereliction of duty.”

I would like to point out as many other people have is that the Constitution or the Bill of Rights did not figure in the Hildebeast’s answer to this question.  If anything, her answer – when carefully read – reveals that she wants to appoint Justices that will support a Progressive/Liberal viewpoint which is actually counter to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, despite what her follow-up response to the Second Amendment:

“And I just want to quickly say, I respect the Second Amendment. But I believe there should be comprehensive background checks, and we should close the gun show loophole, and close the online loophole.”

Her statement about the Second Amendment is absolutely false – she does not respect the Second Amendment, and has stated as much in earlier speeches and policy conferences.  She would, in essence, appoint Justices to overturn the Heller and McDonald rulings, and sign legislation such as H.R.4269What doesn’t get legislated away and supported by a Leftist Supreme Court, she will ban and confiscate by Executive Order.  These would gut the Second Amendment rights of the People without touching the Amendment itself.  These statements and strategies are all in the public domain should you search for them.

Back to the original response – Overturning the Citizen’s United ruling is a blow against the First Amendment’s freedom of speech and press.  Stop and think about that – the Media is for a candidate that is against corporations, unions (!), and other organizations stating their opinions by running ads against or for candidates.  If overturned, then could censorship of the Media be far behind?  Giving the Liberal/Progressive penchant for government control of everything, it’s not a stretch, and the media should be very aware of the company they are keeping.

A good example of this is the recent Obamacare fiasco.  Insurance companies are losing money hand over fist, and have petitioned the Government for assistance per legislation.  The Government is refusing, so the insurance companies are withdrawing from the exchanges, leaving many people scrambling for insurance.  There are several examples of the Government reneging on promises, legislation, or treaties throughout history.  Just ask the Indians…the Veterans…or Michelle Malkin (who just had her third insurance carrier bail on her).

To rely on the government for anything long-term is stupidity at best and insanity at worst. – Tom Roland, Equal Diversity

My friends, I am beyond concerned – I’m genuinely frightened at a Hildebeast presidency.  With the polls as they are against Trump and Republicans running for the hills trying for self preservation, a Felon in Chief is more than just possible.  We cannot depend on the Republicans to hold the line in the House and Senate against a Hildebeast presidency – they have overturned only one Presidential veto in the almost 8 years of an Obama presidency, and that was for a no-brainer.  The Republicans have been squishy at best, absent at worst, and ineffective most of the time.  But they’re still better than the Democrats being in charge.

In closing, there’s this from Mark Davis at Townhall.com:

There is plenty of fair criticism of Trump on the right. Some of his conservatism seems recently cultivated, and he has only fitful fluency in its language. Doubt is not unreasonable. And some of his pronouncements, from trade policies to the minimum wage, are soundly unconservative.

But his priority list offers a shot at conservative results more satisfying than we might have seen from perhaps half the field he defeated. Immigration, Obamacare repeal, a serious war against global jihad, a Reaganesque tax plan, job creation—if he bats only .500 on these, we will see a far better America than under her malicious stewardship.

And that’s before we get to the issue that will give the next president an imprint on America lasting until the grandchildren are grown: the Supreme Court. It is an unpardonable disconnect for any constitutional conservative to show nonchalance or outright approval as Hillary Clinton plots a savaging of the Bill of Rights.

So Trump is coarse. So he has said some offensive things. So he won’t mix well at George Will’s patrician cocktail parties. So he causes the elites to clutch their pearls and get the vapors. So what? We have a country to save.

And there are two kinds of conservatives right now: those who will take up the fight to save this nation from Hillary Clinton, and those who won’t. From the halls of Congress to the cubicles of punditry, many will be judged for years to come by their choices in the coming days.

And let’s be clear. Taking up the fight means taking up the fight. It does not include mere restraint from savaging the nominee. It does not mean playing Paul Ryan head games containing tepid good wishes wrapped in a refusal to endorse.

Taking up the fight means making it abundantly clear to all who listen that every voter should pull the lever for Donald Trump. Anything less leaves America’s door unlocked for the home invasion that will accompany the Hillary Clinton inauguration.

Folks, I don’t know what it will take for you to get through this election – clothespins on the nose, an ice-cream binge, Jack Daniels, or what ever else – we do need to vote for the one chance that this country has, no matter how uncouth or unpalatable their actions have been in the past.  And that person is Donald Trump, (and yes, vote for any and all Republicans running for Congress, state, and local offices).

Why People Will Vote for the Hildebeast

My wife and I were talking politics the other day, and she asked me why on Earth anyone  would vote for the Hildebeast.  I responded by listing the following (in no particular order):

  • Has a “D” for party affiliation
  • Is a Female
  • Has been in the public eye for 30-years
  • Was a First Lady
  • Was a Senator
  • Was Secretary of State
  • States that she is for “the little guy”
  • Conveniently ignore the many scandals, past and present

And went on with the following explanations and comments for each bullet point:

Has a “D” for party affiliation:  There are people in this country that will never, under any circumstance, vote for a Republican candidate.  To some of them, the Republican Party is akin to the spawn of Satan.  Others believe that if a Republican is elected, nationally or locally, their benefits will dry up and they would be forced to find work.  And yet others believe that the Democrats are the Party of Compassion (more on this later).  Regardless, these are the hard-core people that would never vote for a Republican candidate, no matter what Hell the Democrats unleashed upon the population.  All we have to do is take a look at cities that have had long-term Democratic rule, watched these cities implode, and Democrat candidates still being elected to know that this is a failing, insane strategy.

Is a Female:  Some people will vote for the Hildebeast just because she is a woman.  They believe that she would stand up for women’s rights (equal pay, sexual harassment, etc.).  Others want to be in on electing the very first woman President.  Still others identify with the Hildebeast believing that a “woman’s touch” is needed to right the country.  If this is their idea of the ideal woman candidate, I can think of the Queen from Snow White being a better candidate, poisoned apple and all…

Has been in the public eye for 30-years:  The Hildebeast has been around for a long time, mostly playing second fiddle to Bill “Slick Willie” Clinton.  Now it’s her time to shine, especially after…

Was a First Lady:  Starting off as the First Lady of Arkansas, then moving on up to the East Coast as First Lady of the United States, she moved through the halls of power, being the power behind the throne upon which Bill sat.  Of course, through it all, she covered for him and ran interference for his many “misdeeds” with female personnel.  So now it’s her turn as the hurt wife.

Was a Senator:  After leaving the White House (with the china), she immediate landed in New York and became a Senator for that state until becoming the Secretary of State under Obummer as the consolation prize after a failed bid for the Presidency.  Just another bullet point on the resume…

Was Secretary of State:  For the first four years of the Obummer Presidency, the Hildebeast jetted all over the globe meeting and dealing with world leaders.  This at least gives the illusion of competency even though every “deal” that she had a hand in has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in the Middle East while lining her pockets through “donations” to the Clinton Foundation.  But it’s the illusion that matters, and yet another bullet point on the resume.

States that she is for “the little guy”:  The Democrats have always portrayed themselves as for “the little guy” and the Hildebeast is no different.  She speaks on the campaign trail that she will stick up for women’s rights like equal pay (while paying female Clinton Foundation employees 18% less than their male counter parts), and preventing or protecting against sexual assault (unless they’re in bed with or attacked by Bill, or if self-defense involves a firearm).  She supposedly sympathizes with small businesses, citing the example of her father’s drapery business.  She has adopted the Bernie platform of free stuff, and admits that she will have to raise taxes to pay for it all (after all, the money has to come from somewhere, and the rich’s “fair share” in taxes (except for herself and her cronies) won’t be enough to cover the bill).  She constantly portrays herself as a civil justice warrior, fighting the good fight against police racism and siding with the “oppressed” Black Lives Matter group.  This is despite that many of her political platforms will, upon further inspection, will destroy the very people that she purports herself to be protecting.

Conveniently ignore the many scandals, past and present:  This is probably the most extreme example of blind ignorance that I have ever seen.  The scandals, blood, bodies, and money that the Hildebeast has been able to avoid responsibility for is almost beyond belief.  There are thirty some years of public records showing ethical and moral bankruptcy, of destroying lives and careers, of doing anything it would take to advance herself, her agenda, and increase her bank account.  And yet these records are being ignored by voters who want to elect a corrupt, vengeful, hateful woman to the highest office in this land.

Postscript:  As I’m writing this post, news reports of Trump’s 11-year old lewd conversation are being widely condemned by the media and various leaders in both political parties.  Trump has apologized, and his wife has stated publically that she has forgiven him for his statements.

In closing, I would like to add this excerpt from Robert Charles from his article at Townhall.com:

…If we are imperfect humans, we still have a right to expect more from our candidates for high office.  We must – in the end – vote our conscience, vote to preserve the US Supreme Court and our security, avoid ingrained public corruption and degradation both, to the greatest extent possible.

I cannot vote for what seems to me, on overwhelming public evidence, a massive criminal enterprise, one that boggles the mind with each new email release.  To me, one candidate’s brazen criminal intent, bold disrespect for rule of law, arrogance and indifference to our Nation’s core principles disqualifies her from future public service.  But I cannot easily vote for what seems a candidate who makes a mockery of human respect, civility, decency and seriousness of purpose without degradation and disgust.

I would also invite the readers of this post to read Jack Hellner’s post at American Thinker for the media’s focus on providing the public a squirrel to chase.

No, it isn’t easy to vote for an imperfect person.  But that is the choice that we have before us.

God Help Us and the United States.

Just a Few Thoughts…

While we all know that the Internet is probably one of the greatest sources of misinformation, I doubt that it can compete in the willful deception of the American people as the Media.  While the Media is supposed to be fair and impartial in its investigation and reporting of the facts except for the editorial page, the slanting of stories toward one viewpoint is, in my mind, nothing less than criminal malfeasance.

Election Night

I wonder if this would be a better choice than the Hildebeast…

If Hillary is elected, this will be the result:

Litmus Test

On Monday evening, the first debate of the candidates for President will take place.  Ninety minutes, no breaks, no chairs, no teleprompters or earbuds, and no excuses.  Some are predicting a Hildebeast meltdown, some are predicting a Trump blow-up.  Regardless, this debate and the next will most likely determine the independent vote.

For those undecided reading this post, allow me a few minutes to ramble on how I determine how my vote will be cast between two candidates.

Those regular readers of this blog know that I am a 2nd Amendment supporter, and make no apologies for that.  Any candidate worth my vote must support, without question, the 2nd Amendment.  This is more than having firearms or weapons.  It is about the heritage of this country, how it was founded, and more importantly, who is really in charge of this country.  Without getting into a history lesson, this is my explanation for this criteria.

Candidates that state support for the 2nd Amendment recognize that the rights of the citizens of this country take precedence over the government.  It is not only this specific Amendment that is important, but the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.  The candidate, by supporting the 2nd Amendment, also supports (without stating) the rest of the founding documents of this country.

It is therefore expected that these candidates will honor their oaths of office, and abide by the restrictions of the Constitution upon their office.  And in general, this has proven to be true.

If we look at political office holders who state opposition to the 2nd Amendment, we generally see that the rights of the citizens have taken a back seat to the political and personal aspirations of the individual candidate.  For instance…

Democrats have generally been anti-2nd Amendment while Republicans have been pro-2nd Amendment.  The public was generally not in favor of the Affordable Care Act (aka ACA aka Obamacare) as evidenced by the following exchange during a town hall with then Senator Arlan Spector and then HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibilius, a woman stood up and stated,

“I look at this health care plan and I see nothing that is about health or about care. What I see is a bureaucratic nightmare, Senator. Medicaid is broke, Medicare is broke, Social Security is broke and you want us to believe that a government that can’t even run a cash for clunkers program is going to run one-seventh of our U.S. economy? No sir, no!”

Amid great public outcry, the Democrats overwhelmingly voted for the ACA without a single Republican vote, taking away the freedom of the citizens of this country to select their own healthcare at affordable prices, and involving government control into an area not permitted by the Constitution.  As we have seen, the ACA is failing exactly as predicted, and We The People are literally paying the price for that failure.

Yes, the Democrats were voted out of office for their failure to honor the rights and the will of the people, but once again we have in this election cycle two main party candidates on opposite sides of the 2nd Amendment.  If you apply this litmus test, and look at the positions of the candidates in respect to what rights of the people they respect, then there is clearly only one choice.

And it’s not the person with the “D” or G” behind their name…  The only choice that has a chance of being elected has the “R” behind their name, not the “L”.

Some have accused me of being a single-issue voter.  So be it, but if one looks deeper, there’s a reason for it.  If you have a better strategy, I’d love to hear it.

Fifteen Years Later

Reflecting back on this day in 2001, the words “never forget” come to mind.  However, I do wonder if other people continue to remember what happened, and the implications of that amnesia.

The following is a post that I wrote for the five-year anniversary of 9/11, the day that Islamic terrorism came to America:

Sitting at my desk at another plant on assignment five years ago, I was finishing up some report when someone came in the office and announced that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center buildings. I really didn’t think much of it at the time, and thought that some joy riding pilot in a Cessna got too close to one of the buildings, got caught in an updraft, and slammed into the building.

I finished up the report, and went out on the floor to check on the project’s progress, and I happened to see one of the TVs the company had set up for internal communications. Someone had put the feed from one of the national networks on the network, and I saw the WTC burning. I was stunned for two reasons – the first was that it was such a clear day, so how could someone accidentally hit one of the buildings. The second was that I just couldn’t understand how a small plane could cause so much damage. That’s when I saw the second plane hit…

Dumbfounded, I suddenly realized that the first plane was not a Cessna or other small plane, but a full-sized, passenger-carrying jet. I next understood that this was deliberate, because there was absolutely no way that two planes could hit the WTC buildings on the same clear day. Then there was the overwhelming sense of sadness, grief, hopelessness as the dawning of a new thought came to mind…

Terrorism, unlike anything that we have ever known, had come to America.

I watched, horrified along with the rest of the country, as the towers came down mere minutes from each other. I couldn’t understand that at the time – this was the last thing that I had expected. I had known that the Empire State Building had been struck by a B-25 bomber and had survived with minimal damage – why not a modern building? But that was not the case here – too big, too much fuel, too much heat – and the towers collapsed. And I wept openly as I watched the plumes of dust rise over the island of Manhattan.

Later, the news of the Pentagon being hit and the plane going down in Pennsylvania came across the news, but everyone was in shock. Who could have done this, and why? Questions abounded, and answers were few in coming. Wild speculation and rumors ran through the plant unchecked. And everyone was afraid…

Where was the next attack going to happen, and when? Everyone struggled to make sense of the madhouse that the country had become. Nothing was the same, nor would it ever be again. And the skies went silent except for the roar of fighter jets on patrol.

I feared for the future of the country, and of that of my son’s. What kind of a world was he going to grow up in? How much different was his childhood and adult life going to be than mine? The future had suddenly become so very uncertain and frightening for all of us.

The American people are now at war, not with a nation, but with an ideology that hates this country and all of it’s citizens. These people live, think, sleep, and eat with the thought of killing us and destroying this country that we live in simply because they do not like us for the freedoms we enjoy (especially the one about freedom to worship). And their reward for doing so is their version of heaven. And knowing all of this, there are those who still believe that these fanatics can be negotiated with.

In the past five years, we observed the political parties pull together like most of us had never known before, only to watch political sniping and power plays take the place of securing this country from foreign terrorists once & for all. The planes are flying again, but at great inconvenience to all. Terrorist attacks have taken place and were prevented around the world, but we all know it’s a matter of time before another attack happens here.

What does the future hold? That is unknown to all except the Creator. But I am hopeful, both in this country and my fellow Americans. We have proven in the past that we are a resilient people, able to rise and meet any challenge before us. I can only pray that this will be the case as our new enemy is as patient, cunning, and vicious as any beast of the field. And we must remember that as we observe this most solemn day.

In the years that have passed, we have seen the fall of the group that planned and committed the atrocities of  9/11, only to see a more terrifying group take its place.  Even more astounding is that the progressive liberals of the Democratic Party has taken the position of defending and ignoring the horrors that Islam represents, even defending it.  To this end, the current Administration is allowing primarily Muslim refugees into this country without serious investigation into their suitability to immigrate into this country, and the current Democratic Presidential candidate is advocating increasing the number of these immigrants under the same flawed policy.

We have seen in this country and others in Europe the results of allowing Islamic refugees into their countries without vetting.  Crime such as rape, robbery, and murder have all been attributed to immigrants who have no intent to integrate into their host country’s societies, but bring the same beliefs that turned their home countries into the hell that they were fleeing from to begin with.  The politicians seem not to care one whit about the harm that is being inflicted upon their country’s citizens, and make excuses for their course of action or inaction.

As I wrote the preceding, I’m reminded of this paragraph from a post in 2006 which stated;

Whether we like it or not, I believe that the Islamic terrorists are going to do their damnest to make this into a religious war from whatever it can be called now. They will use the classic good vs. evil argument, an us-vs.-them conflict in the name of a jihad (religious war, for those of you in Rio Linda). They will plot, plan, and execute attacks that will cause large numbers of casualties.  And the elitist idiots among us will wring their hands crying, “We don’t understand! We were talking!” Understand this, you Brie-eaters – there are people in the world that want to kill you just for the reason that you exist!! And we still seem to pursue the idiotic mantra of appeasement to those who wish nothing more than to destroy our country and subjugate us to their religion.

I am not an Islamophobe, but I am concerned about a religious theology that states that:

  1. Islam is to be the state religion.
  2. All subjects of the state are required to believe in Islam & the Prophet, and are subject to the laws of Sharia.
  3. Non-believers & sinners according to the Holy Book are to be punished up to and including execution.
  4. Women are property, not people.

This theology is in direct conflict with the Constitution and laws of this country.  And yet the political Progressive Left goes out of their way to defend Islam and its practices.  If you do not believe me, then read the entire article titled “Sharia USA” by Aynaz Anni Cyrus, a woman that fled at the risk of her life to immigrate to the United States to escape Islamic oppression.  An excerpt from that article follows that demonstrates what we are seemingly, blindly, rushing toward:

I am saying all of this because today, as I look at what is happening in America, I see our freedom gravely threatened. Islam is at war with us, and it will stop at nothing in its deliberate and sustained attack on our freedoms. Islamization of the West is occurring at a very fast pace and one of the vehicles Supremacists are using to achieve it is the flooding of Western countries with Muslim refugees. Islamic Obama has opened the floodgates and Hillary intends to escalate the process.

Our leadership and media, meanwhile, perpetrate the lie that accepting these refugees is somehow about tolerance. It is not about tolerance — it is about our values being exploited by our enemies to assist us in cultural suicide and leaving ourselves vulnerable to jihadist attacks.

The dire danger to America lies in the lies told by our leftist government and media and the ignorance of many Americans about Islam’s true character and purpose. I fear that Americans have become blind to how precious and rare freedom is and how it must be protected and fought for without pause. I can’t help but fear that what is coming to America is what came to my homeland in 1979 — and I refuse to be silenced again. And because I refuse to be silent today, I know that certain Islamic forces have targeted me. But I will continue to speak out.

I tell you these things not to gain your sympathy, but to help you understand that our freedom is under fire. Our country is headed down a very dangerous path. The Left has succeeded in making resistance to Islamization appear to be racism and hatred. We must fight this malicious lie. We must fight to become well-informed and educated about Islam in order to defeat leftist and Islamist propaganda. By remaining silent, being afraid to be called names and ignoring reality, we will be surrendering our freedoms to the enemy.

The answer to my question in the 2006 post “What does the future hold?” is borne out by events of these years.  Our country has indeed changed, and not for the better.  Fifteen years is a long time to forget the horror of that day, and the religion of the people that brought that horror.  Fifteen years to make excuses for, and to plan how to take advantage of a people so willing to forgive and forget.  Fifteen years to allow the Middle East to dissolve into Hell on Earth.  Fifteen years later, we are on the verge of another election cycle that will determine the course of this country. Fifteen years after the attack, and the forgetful public is just about ready to hand over the reigns of power to a megalomaniacal political party that is interested in its own power and not the citizens of the country.

“Never Forget” my a$$…
