…reveals that I’m bleary-eyed and droopy tailed with a hint of disgust after watching the first Presidential debate between the Hildebeast and Trump. Before the pundits pollute my thinking, here are the impressions that I’ve come away with.
The Hildebeast came out swinging, putting Trump on the defensive. She appeared to be well-prepared, he did not. She was well polished in her composure (but that’s what 30-years in the public eye do), but Trump seemed like a country bumpkin in comparison. Both candidates fired facts & figures back and forth, and the Hildebeast ended the debate with a personal attack. The audience cheered both candidates for some of the highlights, and the moderator appeared to not be in control for most of the debate. In fact, I believe he was ineffective at keeping the candidates under control and on point.
The impression that I came away with is that the debate resembled more of a schoolyard argument between two grade-schoolers than two presidential candidates. Neither candidate appeared Presidential nor worthy of the highest office in the land.
I imagine that the pundits will give a slight edge to the Hildebeast as being the winner. However, I believe that the real winner was the person that wasn’t on the stage last night. That would be the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. I could see that after the petty performance of both candidates that he would pick up support from the undecided voters.
The clear loser of the debates is the American People. This is what we have to choose from?
To quote Jeff Dunham’s Walter, “Can we have a do-over?”
On Monday evening, the first debate of the candidates for President will take place. Ninety minutes, no breaks, no chairs, no teleprompters or earbuds, and no excuses. Some are predicting a Hildebeast meltdown, some are predicting a Trump blow-up. Regardless, this debate and the next will most likely determine the independent vote.
For those undecided reading this post, allow me a few minutes to ramble on how I determine how my vote will be cast between two candidates.
Those regular readers of this blog know that I am a 2nd Amendment supporter, and make no apologies for that. Any candidate worth my vote must support, without question, the 2nd Amendment. This is more than having firearms or weapons. It is about the heritage of this country, how it was founded, and more importantly, who is really in charge of this country. Without getting into a history lesson, this is my explanation for this criteria.
Candidates that state support for the 2nd Amendment recognize that the rights of the citizens of this country take precedence over the government. It is not only this specific Amendment that is important, but the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. The candidate, by supporting the 2nd Amendment, also supports (without stating) the rest of the founding documents of this country.
It is therefore expected that these candidates will honor their oaths of office, and abide by the restrictions of the Constitution upon their office. And in general, this has proven to be true.
If we look at political office holders who state opposition to the 2nd Amendment, we generally see that the rights of the citizens have taken a back seat to the political and personal aspirations of the individual candidate. For instance…
Democrats have generally been anti-2nd Amendment while Republicans have been pro-2nd Amendment. The public was generally not in favor of the Affordable Care Act (aka ACA aka Obamacare) as evidenced by the following exchange during a town hall with then Senator Arlan Spector and then HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibilius, a woman stood up and stated,
“I look at this health care plan and I see nothing that is about health or about care. What I see is a bureaucratic nightmare, Senator. Medicaid is broke, Medicare is broke, Social Security is broke and you want us to believe that a government that can’t even run a cash for clunkers program is going to run one-seventh of our U.S. economy? No sir, no!”
Amid great public outcry, the Democrats overwhelmingly voted for the ACA without a single Republican vote, taking away the freedom of the citizens of this country to select their own healthcare at affordable prices, and involving government control into an area not permitted by the Constitution. As we have seen, the ACA is failing exactly as predicted, and We The People are literally paying the price for that failure.
Yes, the Democrats were voted out of office for their failure to honor the rights and the will of the people, but once again we have in this election cycle two main party candidates on opposite sides of the 2nd Amendment. If you apply this litmus test, and look at the positions of the candidates in respect to what rights of the people they respect, then there is clearly only one choice.
And it’s not the person with the “D” or G” behind their name… The only choice that has a chance of being elected has the “R” behind their name, not the “L”.
Some have accused me of being a single-issue voter. So be it, but if one looks deeper, there’s a reason for it. If you have a better strategy, I’d love to hear it.
Hillary “The Hildebeast” Clinton stated this about Trump supporters:
You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric.
Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.
For a Presidential candidate to state this about her fellow citizens (who vote, by the way) is in itself deplorable. It shows that this person does not think much about the people that she is to serve while President or in any political office.
And yet, little to no outrage from the above is present in the Media. You and I both know that if The Hildebeast had a “R” after her name denoting party affiliation, the pundits would be screaming for her blood and her head. Instead, praise for her social warrior bravery.

Let us be generous to Clinton. When she talked about a basket of deplorables she was just serving up to her LGBT audience what it wanted to hear. That’s what politicians do for a living.
And the whole racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia name-shaming crock is necessary, both to keep the Democratic Coalition of the Fringes properly grateful to their ruling class masters, and to keep the rubes, the deplorables, in fear of their jobs for saying the wrong thing at work, or in church. It is the glue that keeps the Democrats together.
Which reminds me of the following excerpt from a post in November 2005:
In case any of you didn’t know, a typical politician’s primary job is not to serve the people who elected him. His primary job is to get himself (or herself) elected or re-elected. Second is to reward all those contributors that gave $$ to help him get elected. Third is to get as many perks & benefits as he can while he is in office. But really. Let’s have a reality check about the -isms and the -phobias.
Racism is a problem? You mean in the country that went to war to free the slaves, that passed the civil rights acts? That elected a black president? Sexism? You mean the country that gave women the vote, that has encouraged women, indeed, has mandated that women get preference at the university and the workplace? Homophobia? You mean the country that doesn’t riot in indignation when elite gays get to harass the little people for not wanting to bake a gay wedding cake? Islamophobia? You mean the country in which a supermarket checker gets to wear the hijab, a defiant statement of separation and act of segregation in my book, and gets to live to tell the tale?
You know what I think? I think that the ordinary white middle class has shown the most amazing patience and sturdiness as they have marked time for the last 50 years while liberals deployed government force to help blacks, women, gays, Hispanics, Muslims at their expense.
You want to talk about deplorable, then how about the lower half of white America that has been paying for the liberal agenda for the last half century not in taxes, but in diminished lives, so that liberals could pat themselves on the back for their compassion and their passionate activism.
And another thing. Sure it’s deplorable what liberals have done to the white working class and the unorganized white middle class that just follows the rules, goes to work, and obeys the law.
If we really want to talk about who is deplorable in this situation, let’s talk about the Hildebeast’s many scandals that she and her husband have been a part of for all of their 30-plus years in public office. Let’s talk about the Hildebeast’s use of the Clinton Foundation for a “pay to play” scheme for influence in State Department recommendations for foreign governments is just one way that this person has sold our country (and us) to the highest bidder. Let’s talk about revelations from this past week show that large “contributions” to the DNC resulted in perks to the donors such as ambassadorships, appointments, access to the President, and other perks (link here for just one article). Let’s talk about the Progressive Liberal agenda (another name for Socialism) to reduce the greatness of America into the shithole of a third-world country.

Our founding documents give us the reasons in plain English: to secure the unalienable rights of “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” (the Declaration of Independence) and “to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” (the preamble to the Constitution of the United States).
In other words, our government exists to secure the liberty of its citizens. There is a reason why the word “Liberty” appears in both the Declaration and the Constitution: because liberty is the paramount moral directive by which one human being can interact with another. To rob another human being unwillingly of his time, effort, intellection, the fruits of his labor, or his very life is to violate his self-sovereignty and to do him evil. Governments were known by our founders to be the very worst violators of this principle, and so the founders set up our government to be the very basis for which self-sovereignty was to be preserved, which established our republic as unique in the whole of human history.
At least it used to be. We have lost our way.
The government we know today exists only for itself. It feeds off the citizenry to support its own largesse. It is used as a mechanism by its adherents to further pet projects and ply us with social experiments. It steadily erodes, rather than secures, liberty. The Constitution was established to confine government, but through two centuries of Supreme Court malignance, we have a government that, collectively, does not recognize self-sovereignty as a natural right.
That, my friends, is what is truly deplorable, and the who are the people trying their damnest to make it happen.
To reverse this course will take the courage of the Electorate to elect people that will reverse this course. Those people are few and far between. The start is to elect good people, people who hold dear the ideals presented in the Constitution, and believe that Liberty is in the actions of the People, not by governmental mandate.
The only Presidential candidate this year that has a chance of righting the ship is Donald Trump, a political outsider. Perhaps this is who we need – someone not of the political elite. We know that the Hildebeast isn’t that person.
But we also must look at our Senators and Representatives, not only at the Federal level, but State and Local. While I do not advocate a straight party ticket, I cannot abide supporting the Democrat party, and the only way to effectively oppose the Democrat Party is to vote Republican.
For Better or Worse, that is what We The People must do.
Reflecting back on this day in 2001, the words “never forget” come to mind. However, I do wonder if other people continue to remember what happened, and the implications of that amnesia.
The following is a post that I wrote for the five-year anniversary of 9/11, the day that Islamic terrorism came to America:
Sitting at my desk at another plant on assignment five years ago, I was finishing up some report when someone came in the office and announced that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Center buildings. I really didn’t think much of it at the time, and thought that some joy riding pilot in a Cessna got too close to one of the buildings, got caught in an updraft, and slammed into the building.
I finished up the report, and went out on the floor to check on the project’s progress, and I happened to see one of the TVs the company had set up for internal communications. Someone had put the feed from one of the national networks on the network, and I saw the WTC burning. I was stunned for two reasons – the first was that it was such a clear day, so how could someone accidentally hit one of the buildings. The second was that I just couldn’t understand how a small plane could cause so much damage. That’s when I saw the second plane hit…
Dumbfounded, I suddenly realized that the first plane was not a Cessna or other small plane, but a full-sized, passenger-carrying jet. I next understood that this was deliberate, because there was absolutely no way that two planes could hit the WTC buildings on the same clear day. Then there was the overwhelming sense of sadness, grief, hopelessness as the dawning of a new thought came to mind…
Terrorism, unlike anything that we have ever known, had come to America.
I watched, horrified along with the rest of the country, as the towers came down mere minutes from each other. I couldn’t understand that at the time – this was the last thing that I had expected. I had known that the Empire State Building had been struck by a B-25 bomber and had survived with minimal damage – why not a modern building? But that was not the case here – too big, too much fuel, too much heat – and the towers collapsed. And I wept openly as I watched the plumes of dust rise over the island of Manhattan.
Later, the news of the Pentagon being hit and the plane going down in Pennsylvania came across the news, but everyone was in shock. Who could have done this, and why? Questions abounded, and answers were few in coming. Wild speculation and rumors ran through the plant unchecked. And everyone was afraid…
Where was the next attack going to happen, and when? Everyone struggled to make sense of the madhouse that the country had become. Nothing was the same, nor would it ever be again. And the skies went silent except for the roar of fighter jets on patrol.
I feared for the future of the country, and of that of my son’s. What kind of a world was he going to grow up in? How much different was his childhood and adult life going to be than mine? The future had suddenly become so very uncertain and frightening for all of us.
The American people are now at war, not with a nation, but with an ideology that hates this country and all of it’s citizens. These people live, think, sleep, and eat with the thought of killing us and destroying this country that we live in simply because they do not like us for the freedoms we enjoy (especially the one about freedom to worship). And their reward for doing so is their version of heaven. And knowing all of this, there are those who still believe that these fanatics can be negotiated with.
In the past five years, we observed the political parties pull together like most of us had never known before, only to watch political sniping and power plays take the place of securing this country from foreign terrorists once & for all. The planes are flying again, but at great inconvenience to all. Terrorist attacks have taken place and were prevented around the world, but we all know it’s a matter of time before another attack happens here.
What does the future hold? That is unknown to all except the Creator. But I am hopeful, both in this country and my fellow Americans. We have proven in the past that we are a resilient people, able to rise and meet any challenge before us. I can only pray that this will be the case as our new enemy is as patient, cunning, and vicious as any beast of the field. And we must remember that as we observe this most solemn day.
In the years that have passed, we have seen the fall of the group that planned and committed the atrocities of 9/11, only to see a more terrifying group take its place. Even more astounding is that the progressive liberals of the Democratic Party has taken the position of defending and ignoring the horrors that Islam represents, even defending it. To this end, the current Administration is allowing primarily Muslim refugees into this country without serious investigation into their suitability to immigrate into this country, and the current Democratic Presidential candidate is advocating increasing the number of these immigrants under the same flawed policy.
We have seen in this country and others in Europe the results of allowing Islamic refugees into their countries without vetting. Crime such as rape, robbery, and murder have all been attributed to immigrants who have no intent to integrate into their host country’s societies, but bring the same beliefs that turned their home countries into the hell that they were fleeing from to begin with. The politicians seem not to care one whit about the harm that is being inflicted upon their country’s citizens, and make excuses for their course of action or inaction.
As I wrote the preceding, I’m reminded of this paragraph from a post in 2006 which stated;
Whether we like it or not, I believe that the Islamic terrorists are going to do their damnest to make this into a religious war from whatever it can be called now. They will use the classic good vs. evil argument, an us-vs.-them conflict in the name of a jihad (religious war, for those of you in Rio Linda). They will plot, plan, and execute attacks that will cause large numbers of casualties. And the elitist idiots among us will wring their hands crying, “We don’t understand! We were talking!” Understand this, you Brie-eaters – there are people in the world that want to kill you just for the reason that you exist!! And we still seem to pursue the idiotic mantra of appeasement to those who wish nothing more than to destroy our country and subjugate us to their religion.
I am not an Islamophobe, but I am concerned about a religious theology that states that:
- Islam is to be the state religion.
- All subjects of the state are required to believe in Islam & the Prophet, and are subject to the laws of Sharia.
- Non-believers & sinners according to the Holy Book are to be punished up to and including execution.
- Women are property, not people.
This theology is in direct conflict with the Constitution and laws of this country. And yet the political Progressive Left goes out of their way to defend Islam and its practices. If you do not believe me, then read the entire article titled “Sharia USA” by Aynaz Anni Cyrus, a woman that fled at the risk of her life to immigrate to the United States to escape Islamic oppression. An excerpt from that article follows that demonstrates what we are seemingly, blindly, rushing toward:
I am saying all of this because today, as I look at what is happening in America, I see our freedom gravely threatened. Islam is at war with us, and it will stop at nothing in its deliberate and sustained attack on our freedoms. Islamization of the West is occurring at a very fast pace and one of the vehicles Supremacists are using to achieve it is the flooding of Western countries with Muslim refugees. Islamic Obama has opened the floodgates and Hillary intends to escalate the process.
Our leadership and media, meanwhile, perpetrate the lie that accepting these refugees is somehow about tolerance. It is not about tolerance — it is about our values being exploited by our enemies to assist us in cultural suicide and leaving ourselves vulnerable to jihadist attacks.
The dire danger to America lies in the lies told by our leftist government and media and the ignorance of many Americans about Islam’s true character and purpose. I fear that Americans have become blind to how precious and rare freedom is and how it must be protected and fought for without pause. I can’t help but fear that what is coming to America is what came to my homeland in 1979 — and I refuse to be silenced again. And because I refuse to be silent today, I know that certain Islamic forces have targeted me. But I will continue to speak out.
I tell you these things not to gain your sympathy, but to help you understand that our freedom is under fire. Our country is headed down a very dangerous path. The Left has succeeded in making resistance to Islamization appear to be racism and hatred. We must fight this malicious lie. We must fight to become well-informed and educated about Islam in order to defeat leftist and Islamist propaganda. By remaining silent, being afraid to be called names and ignoring reality, we will be surrendering our freedoms to the enemy.
The answer to my question in the 2006 post “What does the future hold?” is borne out by events of these years. Our country has indeed changed, and not for the better. Fifteen years is a long time to forget the horror of that day, and the religion of the people that brought that horror. Fifteen years to make excuses for, and to plan how to take advantage of a people so willing to forgive and forget. Fifteen years to allow the Middle East to dissolve into Hell on Earth. Fifteen years later, we are on the verge of another election cycle that will determine the course of this country. Fifteen years after the attack, and the forgetful public is just about ready to hand over the reigns of power to a megalomaniacal political party that is interested in its own power and not the citizens of the country.
