Target Department Stores have come under fire for their transgender bathroom policy.  Per their “inclusiveness” policy, any person that identifies as the opposite gender is allowed to use the restroom of their choice, i.e., a man that identifies as a woman can use the women’s restroom.

Does anyone else see a problem with this?

I’m just waiting for some pervert to dress up as a woman, go into the women’s restroom, and sexually assault a woman/teen/child.  Then the lawsuits will fly and everything gets muddled more than it is.  Lost will be the rights of the victim along with the injuries (physical and emotional) that they received.

At this point in time, Target has received over 1,000,000 notices from people that will not shop at Target over this policy.  Target has not budged in their position.  Considering that Target Canada has declared bankruptcy, it doesn’t make business sense in losing over a million plus customers for accommodating roughly 0.3% of the population.  A smart company would have three restrooms – one for men, one for women, and one for the gender-confused (i.e., unisex).  But such is the social justice movement of the corporate world and politics of the day.

Between this new policy and being anti-gun, Target will not be getting the hard-earned dollars of my wife and I.

The Liberals have been characterizing conservatives and Republicans as having a “war on women.”  Really?

Somehow, with pushing the transgender policy that Target has adopted, I would think that these policies have put more women in physical danger than any of the supposed anti-women proposals from the conservatives.

Political correctness running rampant leads to the idiotic rantings of the faculty and their sycophant snowflakes on various college campuses.  “Safe spaces,” “code words” and “trigger warnings” are a disservice to the educational process of our young adults.  These people must learn that there are other opinions that run counter to the opinions of themselves.  Lost is the critical thinking that ensures a well-rounded education.  Open minds lead to sharing of ideas, and everyone benefits.

Those are the most important skills in the working world, and it’s why colleges have always exposed students to challenging and uncomfortable ideas.” – former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Commencement Speech, University of Michigan, 2016

Political Parties

I read something the other day that set me back on my heels because I had not thought of it before, and it clarified so many things for me – Political parties are private entities.  Their sole purpose is to get people elected to office that reflect their political ideology  Political parties do not necessarily represent the interests of the American People nor vow to uphold the Constitution & Bill of Rights, especially if these represent a threat to their continued quest for power and political ideology.

I keep wondering about how the Democratic Party could back a person that belongs in prison, or a person that espouses ideals contrary to the founding of this country.  I also wonder how the Republican Party is, at least to me, attempting to manipulate the nomination toward a “chosen” candidate.  Both parties are steeped in controversy and secrecy, seeming not to represent mainstream Americans, but those chosen few.

It now is clear – we have a political elite that seeks to completely rule the American People, and to eventually subjugate them into sheep.  It doesn’t matter if they are Brand “D” or Brand “R”, the goal is the same.

Some examples of this are:

After 9/11, the Patriot Act contains some of the most egregious civil rights violations was passed, all in the name of protecting the “Homeland.”  Another police agency was created with sweeping powers which included the suspension of civil rights if terrorist activity was suspected.  We, the American People, allowed ourselves to be groped, prodded, X-rayed, and scrutinized in the name of security.  And yet, terrorist acts still occurred on American soil.  Even with this spotty track record, the Patriot Act was renewed.

President Obummer signed the Paris Climate Treaty without ratification by the Senate (as required by the Constitution), thereby obligating the United States to reduce carbon emissions but allowing other developing countries to spew to their heart’s content.  The mandates of the EPA have already lead to the closing of coal companies and coal fired power plants, removing a source of relatively clean electrical power from the grid, and this will result in higher electricity prices.  This will affect the poor and elderly as evidenced by similar actions in Europe which resulted in 40,000 elderly Europeans dying this past winter because they could not afford heat.

Neither political party wants to hear criticism of their policies and positions.  In fact, those Democrats (and some Republicans) that support the Liberal positions of Manmade Climate Change, abortion, and LGBT policies have called for criminal prosecution of the people that oppose or voice dissent.  People have lost jobs, been taken to court, and otherwise been harassed in what I see as violations of their First Amendment rights.  This reminds me of the following quote:

“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” – Voltaire

Indeed, those Liberals that invite open dialog to discuss the issues are the same people who want to toss you in jail (or worse) for expressing opposition unless you agree with them.

The Democratic candidates for President both state that the American citizen does not have the right to be armed, thereby stating that we have no right to self-defense against an attacker or overbearing government.  There are some Republicans running for President that have had the same opinion, although they have reformed their image for the election.  If they are elected, I wonder if they would change their tune…

Corporations give funds to candidates of both parties, but not because they support the platforms of the candidates.  No, it’s to curry favor for legislation that would be beneficial to the corporation.  Donald Trump has admitted to as much, and I highly suspect this is the reason for the Hildebeast “earning” millions of dollars in speaking fees.  Personally, I would like the politicians to wear logos on their suits like the NASCAR and other racing drivers do to know who has “contributed” to their campaigns…

And I could go on, but I won’t.  Do your own digging, and you will understand that both political parties have their own interests first, not the American people.  It especially expands on something that I wrote back in November 2005:

“In case any of you didn’t know, a typical politician’s primary job is not to serve the people who elected him. His primary job is to get himself (or herself) elected or re-elected. Second is to reward all those contributors that gave $$ to help him get elected. Third is to get as many perks & benefits as he can while he is in office. Last on the list is the common person like you & I.” – Tom Roland

Nothing’s changed…

Firearm Safety

Both Democratic candidates for President have stated in one way or another that private ownership of firearms is not protected by the Second Amendment.  The Hildebeast has further stated that the Supreme Court was wrong on the Heller and McDonald decisions, and that she, as President, would appoint Justices to reverse that decision in order to implement an Australian style of confiscation of firearms.

I fully understand why some people are not comfortable around firearms.  For most of the people in one category, they believe that firearms are mysterious beasts of destruction of which the lethality has been over-hyped by both Hollywood and the gun control industry.  These people choose to remain ignorant of the reality of what a firearm is, and believe what they have been spoon-fed by the media.

Others hate guns because of some tragedy that has occurred in their lives that involved a firearm.  While I share their grief and loss of a loved one, it bears in mind that a firearm is a tool which can be misused or used for evil purposes as well as for self-protection and putting food on the table.  These people have fallen into the trap of blaming an inanimate object instead of the person that committed the crime.

Then there is a group of people that simply hate firearms for whatever reason that comes to mind – they look dangerous, people cannot be trusted with them, they cause crime, criminals use them, they promote violence, etc. Their response is to ban them all no matter the consequences.

Before I go too much further, I would like to relate this story that was told to me by my mother…

My mother hated guns.  Period.  She was afraid of them, even though my father showed her how to use them.  But she also saw the necessity of them.

Long before I was born, my parents were living in Nashville, Tennessee.  My father was out of the house working, and my mother was at home when she heard the door in the back of the house open.

Thinking my father had come home early, she rounded the corner expecting to see him only to find a strange man standing in the kitchen.

She ran to the bedroom and retrieved a revolver just as the man entered the bedroom.  She shouted at him to get out, and he left in a hurry.  One can only imagine what might have happened had she not had a firearm.

But she still hated guns.

Whenever I hear politicians and people “who know better than you” state that there is no place in modern society for firearms, I think of this story of where a ninety-pound woman successfully defended herself against a two-hundred pound man, and I also wonder how many times a day, month, or year this same scenario is played out.

The bottom line is that when you hear these people state their opposition for the private ownership of firearms, they are really telling you that you, as a person, do not matter to them what so ever as long as they are elected and/or get their way.  Often, they are protected by bodyguards with, you guessed it, firearms.  They do not care what happens to their fellow man, woman, or child – you are a means to an end if you support them.

Think about this when you hear these morons spout their gun control drivel.

America’s First War with Islam…..AGAIN

I was searching through the news and stuff today and found something that was done here in February of last year by Tom, and it bears repeating, so the people who are saying we need to be good to Islamists/Muslims to make them feel at home. I say this again. They don’t want America to be their home folks……they want to change it to be under Sharia Law. The Constitution be damned. And they have been fighting with America since Thomas Jefferson’s time. Here is the story.

Most Americans are unaware of the fact that over two hundred years ago, the United States had declared war on Islam and Thomas Jefferson led the charge! At the height of the eighteenth century, Muslim pirates were the terror of the Mediterranean and a large part of the North Atlantic. They attacked every ship in sight, and held the crews for exorbitant ransoms. Those taken hostage were subjected to barbaric treatment and wrote heart breaking letters home, begging their governments and family members to pay whatever their Mohammedian captors demanded.

These extortionist of the high seas represented the Islamic nations of Tripoli, Tunis, Morocco, and Algiers – collectively referred to as the Barbary Coast – and presented a dangerous and unprovoked threat to the new American Republic. Before the Revolutionary War, U.S. merchant ships had been under the protection of Great Britain. When the U.S. declared its independence and entered into war, the ships of the United States were protected by France. However, once the war was won, America had to protect its own fleets.

Thus, the birth of the U.S. Navy. Beginning in 1784, seventeen years before he would become president, Thomas Jefferson became America’s Minister to France. That same year, the U.S. Congress sought to appease its Muslim adversaries by following in the footsteps of European nations who paid bribes (aka: “protection money” by American mobsters) to the Barbary States rather than engaging them in war.

In July of 1785, Algerian pirates captured American ships, and the Dye of Algiers demanded an unheard-of ransom of $60,000. It was a plain and simple case of extortion, and Thomas Jefferson was vehemently opposed to any further payments. Instead, he proposed to Congress the formation of a coalition of allied nations who together could force the Islamic states into peace. A disinterested Congress decided to pay the ransom.

In 1786, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with Tripoli’s ambassador to Great Britain to ask by what right his nation attacked American ships and enslaved American citizens, and why Muslims held so much hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

The two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that:

Islam was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran that all nations who would not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

This is based upon the Qur’an’s teaching from Surah 47:4 which reads;

“Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.”

Despite this stunning admission of premeditated violence on non-Muslim nations, as well as the objections of many notable American leaders, including George Washington, who warned that caving in was both wrong and would only further embolden the enemy, for the following fifteen years the American government paid the Muslims millions of dollars for the safe passage of American ships or the return of American hostages. The payments in ransom and tribute amounted to over twenty percent of the United States government annual revenues in 1800.

Jefferson was disgusted. Shortly after his being sworn in as the third President of the United States in 1801, the Pasha of Tripoli sent him a note demanding the immediate payment of $225,000 plus $25,000 a year for every year forthcoming.

That changed everything. Jefferson let the Pasha know, in no uncertain terms, what he could do with his demand. The Pasha responded by cutting down the flagpole at the American consulate and declared war on the United States. Tunis, Morocco, and Algiers immediately followed suit.

Jefferson, until now, had been against America raising a naval force for anything beyond coastal defense, but, having watched his nation be cowed by Islamic thugery for long enough, decided that is was finally time to meet force with force. He dispatched a squadron of frigates to the Mediterranean and taught the Muslim nations of the Barbary Coast a lesson he hoped they would never forget. Congress authorized Jefferson to empower U.S. ships to seize all vessels and goods of the Pasha of Tripoli and to “cause to be done all other acts of precaution or hostility as the state of war would justify”.

When Algiers and Tunis, who were both accustomed to American cowardice and acquiescence, saw the newly independent United States had both the will and the right to strike back, they quickly abandoned their allegiance to Tripoli. The war with Tripoli lasted for four more years, and raged up again in 1815. The bravery of the U.S. Marine Corps in these wars led to the line “to the shores of Tripoli” in the Marine Hymn, and they would forever be known as “leathernecks” for the leather collars of their uniforms, designed to prevent their heads from being cut off by the Muslim scimitars when boarding enemy ships.

Islam, and what its Barbary followers justified doing in the name of their prophet and their god, disturbed Jefferson quite deeply. America had a tradition of religious tolerance, the fact that Jefferson, himself, had co-authored the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, but fundamentalist Islam was like no other religion the world had ever seen. A religion based on supremacism, whose holy book the Quran not only condoned but mandated violence against unbelievers, was unacceptable to him. His greatest fear was that someday this brand of Islam would return and pose an even greater threat to the United States.

This should bother every American. That Muslims have brought about women-only classes and swimming times at taxpayer-funded universities and public pools; that Christians, Jews, and Hindus have been banned from serving on juries where Muslim defendants are being judged; Piggy banks and Porky Pig tissue dispensers have been banned from workplaces because they offend Islamist sensibilities; ice cream has been discontinued at certain Burger King locations because the picture on the wrapper looks similar to the Arabic script for Allah; public schools are pulling pork from their menus; on and on and on and on . . .

It’s death by a thousand cuts, or inch-by-inch as some refer to it, and most Americans have no idea that this battle is being waged every day across America. By not fighting back, by allowing groups to obfuscate what is really happening, and not insisting that the Islamists adapt to our own culture, the United States is cutting its own throat with a politically correct knife, and helping to further the Islamists agenda. Sadly, it appears that today’s America’s leaders would rather be politically correct than victorious!

Any doubts, just Google “Thomas Jefferson vs. the Muslim World.”

IN GOD WE TRUST

Next time you hear this tune, remember just how long the US has been fighting “extreme Islam”, and Otrama is right, Muslims have been in our history for 200 years, like hemorrhoids in bunghole, Islam been there. Thank a Marine next time you see him for keeping our country free from this scourge.

And as Tom said over a year ago, and it seems no one listened, we need to stop this scourge before it destroys what freedoms and what constitution we have left. Sharia Law and the Constitution are NOT compatible and never will be. One or the other survives. The other dies. And the sad part of this is, the students of today are not taught what a wonderful and divinely inspired document the Constitution really is, so they don’t know. So folks, it is really up to the parents to teach them the greatness of America. Stop being so lazy and teach them. They are our future. America needs them to know what is really happening……not what the leaders and their school systems decide to teach them.

God Bless America
God Bless our Troops
God Bless us to Teach correctly

It’s a Mad World

The past couple of weeks have just shown me that the world is mad indeed.  For instance…

College students at Emory University and the University of Kentucky needed to retreat to their “safe spaces” to crawl into a fetal position because someone wrote, in chalk, “Trump 2016” on the sidewalk.  Harvard students find pro-life opinions and the American flag offensive.  If this is the future of America, then idiocy is just around the corner.  Or is it already here?

President Obummer attended the Nuclear (in)Security Summit this past week, and promoted the Iran nuclear deal as a success even as the Iranians continue to develop a ballistic missile program.  Perhaps to deliver some of those non-existent nuclear weapons or dirty bombs, hmmm?

I feel safer now, don’t you?

I particularly find it shameful of this same President playing nice with Cuba and the response that he had when the Brussels attack took place.

Finally, the political process is absolutely frustrating.  The candidates personally attacking each other and their families, mostly ignoring the issues, and demonstrating behavior more reminiscent of a grade school recess skirmish than supposedly mature adults.  And these are the people we have to choose from to lead the country!!

Yes, it is a mad world…
