ACA Schadenfreude

Schadenfreude – “malicious joy in the misfortunes of others,” 1922, from Ger., lit. “damage-joy,” from schaden “damage, harm, injury” (see scathe) + freude, from O.H.G. frewida “joy,” from “happy,” lit. “hopping for joy,” from P.Gmc. *frawa- (see frolic).

To say that I am experiencing a little bit of Schadenfreude over the House and Senate Democrats increasing discomfort over the fallout of their reckless passing of the Affordable Healthcare Act (i.e. ACA or ObamaCare) would be a severe understatement.  Indeed, these clowns are getting every bit of Hell from their irate constituents that they deserve.  After all:

However, I am fully sympathetic to those people who are finding themselves between a rock and a hard place with cancelled insurance plans and trying to get new insurance plans that are higher in cost and deductibles.  The exception is for those morons who thought that they could get something for nothing – you folks are getting exactly what you voted for when you bought into the Liar in Chief’s promises.  For this, I have the following graphic & comment:

When will you learn that the “progressive” Liberal Democratic politicians do not have your interests in mind with their voting records?

Now I fully understand that the Republicans have their own set of problems and issues, but I haven’t really seen them try to overtly screw over the American people with such callous disregard as the current crop of Democrats.

But the problem lies with us, the American People, for we have grown complacent and lazy, preferring to believe the lie that Government will take care of us, and that the laws of the land and the politicians that write them will protect us.  Instead of taking an active roll in using three of the following four:

…we’re forced to have this…

…by allowing the politicians of both parties to do this…

Folks, we need to understand the following:

Folks, the only way to dig ourselves out of this mess is to vote for responsible candidates of either party whose stated purpose is to repeal the biggest disaster that our government has imposed upon the American People.  The second part is to hold them to their promises – no more of the “I had to lie to get elected” bullcrap.  Vote them out of office as fast as possible with someone who will get the job done and keep on their butts to do it.

Otherwise, the fourth box above might need to be used as an absolute last resort.

I like your writing. I like your site. How can I join and contribute?

  3. gene white says:

So, how does one join this site and gain comment privileges.
reply from Robert Gene, if you want the comment privelages, does that mean writing here? If you can write, and have some place that I can read your writing, so I can see your abilities…..You could become a writer here….and then you can comment, or write replies to comments….is that what you meant?

  4. Tom Roland says:

Gene – I’m a guest writer here, so I cannot give you any privileges to this site – Robert would make that decision. However, having my own blog at tomsplaceblog.wordpress.com and having been asked by several people to contribute to my blog on several occasions, I have several “running rules” that I use to seriously consider such requests.

First – Does the person have a body of work that I can refer to such as an existing blog? I would then go to that blog and find out fairly quickly if the person is serious about contributing or would use my blog for spamming people.

Second – If the person does not have a blog, are they a commenter on my blog or others? In their comments, are they polite & respectful when agreeing or disagreeing with the author of the post or other posters? This also contributes to the “body of work” mentioned above.

Third – Does that person share the same viewpoints as I do? If the person doesn’t share the same viewpoints as I do (or the purpose of the blog), then this is automatically disqualifies that person for posting on my blog other than commenting.

Last, I have been invited to contribute to several different blogs over the years, accepted two and rejected three following much the same criteria as the above as well as considering the demands on my time. If Robert wants you, he’ll ask you. But remember, without an email address or any idea of what you would contribute to this blog, your chances are very slim indeed.

    Thanks for explaining, Tom.

    @ Robert
In answer to your question, yes I am a writer of sorts, but not in the same league as Tom Roland. My experience in writing has been mostly as a blogger on sites created and managed by someone else. I do not have my own site.

While I did belong to The Right Scoop for quite some time, I eventually left that site and joined Conservatives Together, which is a site owned and managed by Steve Behrens. You can see some of my writing there, under the handle, white531. There are several other strong contributors on the site as well. I would recommend to you kingsjester and Damon_k. Again, samples of their work can be seen on the site. Damon_k has his own blogsite called, http://smallcraftadvisorychronicles.blogspot.com/
kingsjester can be found at: http://kingsjester.wordpress.com/2013/11/25/obama-surrenders-israel-prepares/ Both are Christian Conservatives.

I stumbled on your site quite by accident while doing some research. I read the most recent post by Tom Roland, and was impressed. I would enjoy being able to comment on articles printed here. While I spend most evenings on the C2GTHR site, I still enjoy visiting other conservative sites to get a broader picture of all the conservative thought out there.

I occasionally write a piece that might be deemed acceptable. Several things I have written have been re-shared on other sites, but I don’t write with that as an objective. I guess I write for the same reason a lot of us do, which is to get rid of some of the frustration we all feel at seeing our Constitution ignored, our Freedoms slowly taken away, and the general malaise that seems to have taken over our country since the Progressives gained control. I believe a prime reason for the condition we find our country in right now can be attributed to the apathy of a large number of Americans. I believe conservative sites like yours help to counter the effects of that.

I hope your site continues to grow and draw a larger audience.

    Best wishes,
    Gene White (white531)
