U.S. Government: For equal rights or for double standards?

I was surfing around the net looking for content for this blog, which has grown immensely this last year to my complete surprise. But back to the subject of looking for content, came this little gem across my desk.

From a small Michigan newspaper’s letter to the editor, came this one around July 17th. Now the town is Tawas City on Lake Huron in Northern Michigan with a popululation of just over 2000 people. The article is now getting nationwide attention and as you read it, you can probably guess why. This is a great analogy of just how far offline the government in Washington D.C. has strayed from the Constitution of this great country.

What has America become?

Has America become the land of special interest and home of the double standard?

Lets see: If we lie to the Congress, it’s a felony and if the congress lies to us its just politics. If we dislike a black person, we’re racist and if a black dislikes whites, it’s their 1st Amendment right. The government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims. In public schools you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word God in the process. You can kill an unborn child, but its wrong to execute a mass murderer. We don’t burn books in America, we now rewrite them. We got rid of the communist and socialist threat by renaming them progressives. We are unable to close our border with Mexico, but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea. If you protest against President Obama’s policies you’re a terrorist, but if you burned an American flag or George Bush in effigy it was your 1st Amendment right.

You can have pornography on TV or the internet, but you better not put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas. We have eliminated all criminals in America, as they are now called sick people. We can use a human fetus for medical research but it’s wrong to use an animal.

We take money from those who work hard for it and give it to those who don’t want to work. We all support the Constitution but only when it supports our political ideology. We still have freedom of speech, but only if we are being politically correct. Parenting has been replaced with Ritalin and video games. The land of opportunity is now the land of hand outs. The similarity between Hurricane Katrina and the gulf oil spill is that neither president did anything to help.

And how do we handle a major crisis today? The government appoints a committee to determine who’s at fault, then threatens them, passes a law, raises our taxes, tells us the problem is solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign.

What has happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave?

-Ken Huber
Tawas City

These are things my friends that all of us should be asking. And there is so much more. Like why do we have Supreme Court (un)Justices like Ruth Bader Ginsberg who is now saying that our constitution is outdated and needs to be replaced. Her advice is to look to other countries and their constitutions as the way to go. Not America’s. HUH???? And she is a representative of the people of this country? We have gone so far off track for this country that the way back is getting to be a blurred spectrum in the distance behind us. And the future of the direction we are heading? Look to Europe for the answer. Bankruptcy and insolvency.

With nothing left for our children!

The American people see what is going on, and are screaming to the government to fix it, and they come back with things like cutting a few million or a few billion from the budget over ten years, while increasing spending today. It’s no wonder the people are on the brink of armed rebellion. You know. The kind that started this country?

As for America being the home of the free and the home of the brave. The brave are still here, but it isn’t anything like the country we called home. And we are no longer anywhere near as free as we used to be. But the time of freedom is coming back. With our without the government’s help. With our without the media’s help. Our Constitution guarantees it, and as long as there are people who are patriots of this country, the Constitution will survive.

May God Bless our efforts to help get America back, and put God back into our country
God Bless America, Bless all Americans, and bless us to start using more common sense.

About Robert P. Garding

I am a Reagan Conservative, who is very alarmed at the Liberals who have just lost their majority over our government, but continue to act like it never happened. They have to be stopped. NOW or even sooner.

  1. Keep the faith. It’s half time in the game between America and Obama and the game has been called on account of darkness. The final score is America over Obama by a landslide. One for the record books and the history books I believe. Let the liberals cry in their Chablis and say it was racism that did them in. Americans know better. Our mistake in 2008 will not be repeated. We have learned our lesson the hard way.
    That did them in.
reply from Robert: I couldn’t have said it any better. Great comment.

  2. Seane-Anna says:

Ken Huber’s letter is the sort of thing that will get people jailed, or worse, in the very near future if we don’t put an end to Obama’s regime, and all it represents, in November. Oh, and Robert, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a Supreme Court Justice, not a Representative. But your point is still valid. Having her serve on the Supreme Court is like having an arsonist serve as chief of the fire department. She should’ve been removed from the Supreme bench a long time ago. Maybe, with Obama’s defeat, we’ll once again become a nation with the balls to do just that.
reply from Robert: Sorry about putting RBG as a representative. I knew he was a supreme court (un)justice….don’t know why I didn’t put her as such. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
