Rick Santorum’s Wins yesterday befuddles the GOP

“I don’t stand here to claim to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney. I stand here to be the conservative alternative to Barack Obama.”
-Rick Santorum-

It just amazes me the blindness of the media, the Democrats and the GOP establishment. They are crediting Rush Limbaugh with the three wins Rick Santorum had in Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota. He won Colorado by a 5 point margin, Minnesota by 18 points and Missouri by 30 points. And everyone seems to be totally baffled as to why he won and Romney didn’t.

Folks. It’s easy if you look at the mood of the American population. They are angry at Obama. They are angry at the democrats. They want conservatism. No matter what the GOP establishment wants, the people want conservatism, and Romney isn’t it.

We all know Romney isn’t it. But the GOP establishment keeps telling us that Romney is going to be our nominee. Obama wants Romney. The media wants Romney. The left wants Romney. Why? Because people like Newt and Rick Santorum and Rick Perry and Sarah Palin scare the living crap out of them. Because they cannot be controlled by the left. Romney can……and has been.

So, yesterday’s triple win by Rick Santorum has shook up the nation’s elite. From the left to the right. His wins were not what they were expecting. But was I surprised? NO. Not at all.

What I am surprised about, though I really shouldn’t be, is their reaction to it. Trying to say that it was Rush that caused it.

Why couldn’t it just be Santorum connecting with the people?

The left, the media and the establishment never think that way, when what they want, doesn’t happen. But it is sure fun to watch. I enjoyed the heck out of it when Michelle Bachmann won the caucas that she did in the early days of the campaign season. No one could figure that one out. But it was just Conservatism working to find out who would be the best. Then it was Rick Perry, remember? Then it was Newt. And each time the media, the GOP and the left were beside themselves as to why it was happening. And none of their ideas on what was happening reflected on what was really happening! And this Conservative loves it. It even leaves the GOP establishment befuddled. They want Romney after all, and have been pushing Romney…..and Romney isn’t winning the way he would be if the GOP was right.

The people do not want Obama lite. They don’t want Romney. Only the GOP establishment, the left and the media want him. And I think the polls that show him out front are wrong. But don’t ask me who is going to win. Cause I don’t know right now. I just think it is cool when a person that everyone figures is on his way out, and is a conservative, wins big. Not just once, but three times in one night. NOW HOW BIG is that huh? But here is a little of Santorum’s speech from St. Charles, Missouri, at Santorum headquarters last night.. Give a listen:

Wow. Conservatism is alive and well in Missouri and Minnesota! Thank you all so very, very much it is great to be here. I just can’t thank the people of Missouri. We doubled ’em up here and in Minnesota! Let me just thank God for giving us the grace to be able to persevere through the dog days and blessing us and blessing our family. My wife Karen here, what a rock. I mean what a rock through these last few weeks. We have had more drama than any family really needs, and she has just been an amazing rock and a great blessing to me, and I just want to thank you in particular, my sweet, for all you’ve done. Thank you.

Then he started talking about Obama:

I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t listening. Why would you think he would be listening now? Has he ever listened to the Voice of America before? (crowd yells “No!”) No, why? Because he thinks he knows better. He thinks he’s smarter than you. He thinks he’s someone who is a privileged person who should be able to rule over all of you. But we have a different message for him.

I hope you have been listening to our message, because if you listen to our message and you found out that on those issues — health care, the environment, cap and trade, and on the Wall Street bailouts — Mitt Romney has the same positions as Barack Obama. And in fact would not be the best person to come up and fight for your voices for freedom in America. Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t stand here to claim to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney. I stand here to be the conservative alternative to Barack Obama. (crowd chanting)

The president over the last few years has tried to tell you that he — in fact, the government — can give you rights. The government can take care of you and provide for you. They can give you the “right” to health care like in Obamacare. The crowd yells NOOOOOO.

Well, look what happens when the government gives you rights. When the government gives you rights, unlike when God gives you rights, the government can take them away. When government gives you rights, the government can tell you how to exercise those rights. And we saw that just in the last week with a group of people — a small group of people: Just Catholics in the United States of America. Loud applause from the crowd.

Relish those words people. That is conservatism talking. A conservative that is not afraid to bring GOD into the picture. I can just see the libs cringing from that alone. This was a great example of what can be done with a conservative. Look at the disarray in the media, the left and the GOP establishment. You see, the GOP establishment doesn’t like conservatives either. The last time Conservatism won big was when Reagan won. And the GOP didn’t like that either. I remember. I was there. I voted in that election. We have to stop letting the GOP and the media and the left determine for us, who we are going to vote for. We never win when we do that.

Mark my words.

May God Bless our efforts to help get America back, and put God back into our country
God Bless America, Bless all Americans, and bless us to start using more common sense.

About Robert P. Garding

I am a Reagan Conservative, who is very alarmed at the Liberals who have just lost their majority over our government, but continue to act like it never happened. They have to be stopped. NOW or even sooner.

1 Response to Rick Santorum’s Wins yesterday befuddles the GOP

  1. Seane-Anna says:

Yes, Rick Santorum won, but at least one of those elections–I think the one in Minnesota–was “non-binding”, i.e., the victor received no delegates. I believe Santorum’s victories do mean something but I don’t think they portend any coming defeat for Romney. Romney might not be conservative enough on some issues but Santorum, with his outspoken social conservatism, IS too conservative for many independents and, unfortunately, many Republicans. As a social conservative myself, it pains me to say that, but it’s true. In a general election many independents won’t vote for Santorum because of his conservative position on abortion and gay marriage. And that means Santorum can’t beat Obama, which is the most important thing in this election. Obama MUST be defeated, and that means Republicans/conservatives must rally around the nominee, no matter who he is, and VOTE. And that means Rick Santorum should savor the three wins he got on Tuesday because they’ll probably be the last ones he gets.
reply from Robert: I think that we might see some excitement among the people over these wins, because it will show the conservatives that he has a chance. He is the conservative in there now after all. But when it comes to what you say, time will tell us huh?
