Over a year ago, I did a tribute post to the men who fought in this battle, against overwhelming odds. Since then it has been my most hit on post, and has been rated many times, and have had many comments from people who were there, or were close, or who had family members who fought in “Operation Hump”.
It took a little bit of figuring out when it was to figure out why the past week I have had over 680 hits on that post alone, until today I finally realized that tomorrow is the 46th anniversary of this battle that still rages in the minds of many Americans.
The original post that I did, I did on January 14th, 2010, and it is in the archives of this blog, or on Google, if you type in November 8, 1965 – Operation Hump and you will come up with a wealth of information about this battle, and of course my blog post will be there too.
I had the video of the song by Big and Rich on that post, about the battle. It is always worth another visit to hear that beautiful song about the heroes that fought in that battle. Go there and listen, and pay honor to those brave men. God Bless them all, and their families. For they are among the heroes of America.
As Theodore Roosevelt said, “A man who is good enough to shed his blood for the country is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards.” So in tribute, here is that video again for the memory of those brave soldiers.
God Bless America, her troops and her people
God Bless my readers, my listeners on BTR and my viewers on You Tube…
