Georgia: Another Lesson Taught. But has it been Learned?

Georgia’s new law for illegal immigration allows them to check for citizenship status of migrant workers, making a lot of those workers afraid to come out and work. Fair enough. Seems the law is working. But, the rub comes in the form of the liberals who are now saying that the law is unconstitutional because it allows for discrimination and profiling, keeping the illegal population from working. Working jobs, ‘that Americans will not do.’

But with the Obama economy so bad, and unemployment in Georgia at 10%, it seems that anyone who can work, is coming to work, and the farmers are finding workers to do the work that the libs say Americans will not do, hence the need for illegals. The lesson here has been taught. Americans are taking those jobs. But the libs haven’t learned the lesson and are now fighting the law.

In the Atlantic Journal-Constitution came this article about exactly this:

Local labor brings in the harvest

By Mark Davis
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The big engine growled as the tractor-trailer pulled away into the twilight. The truck held cantaloupes, harvested in a hurry that hot day.

In his air-conditioned office at Weybrenee Farms in Mitchell County, Brent Brinkley totaled the daily take and looked pleased. Thirty-seven crates, 10 tons of sweetness.

His inexperienced work force was getting the job done.

Notice, the line above. ‘His inexperienced work force was getting the job done.’ Now just where is this “work force” coming from? It isn’t from illegal workers who break into this country to take jobs that the democrats always say are ‘jobs that Americans will not do.’

The proof from Georgia is, that Americans can and will do those jobs, and that the liberal talking point on this is just to make the illegals legal, giving the left a new voting base to rely on. Mark my words here folks. That is all this whole right to work for illegals is.

The article goes on to say:

He felt otherwise six weeks ago. A migrant labor crew that harvested his cantaloupes last year didn’t come to Georgia this picking season. The workers, Brinkley said, stayed away because they feared the state’s stringent immigration law, set to take effect July 1.

Brinkley was forced to turn to an unlikely pool of workers: locals. In an industry that some believe attracts only migrant labor, Brinkley assembled a hometown crew.

“We had to call all hands on deck,” said the 45-year-old, who operates the farm with his father, Weyman Brinkley. “Some people who would not normally do this work have worked.”

Most of Brinkley’s local laborers are foreign-born, living here legally. But some of the employees in his 35- to 40-member crew were born in or near Mitchell County and have been in the county all their lives.

Imagine that. Workers found who were living there all along and *gasp* are Americans! Talk to the liberals, and this is something that could never happen, yet, happen it is.

The lesson to the libs, is that they are wrong. Yet they haven’t learned this yet, just as they haven’t learned that lower taxes means more revenue. There seems to be a firewall built inside of the liberals thinking that blocks this kind of thinking, telling them that they are wrong.

But firewalls fail. A good example of this, is the article in the Atlanta Urinal Constipation, as Rush calls it. At least for this moment, they have stopped drinking the liberal kool-aid, and have found some reason. Don’t expect the logic in their thinking to continue. But, for now, they have seen the light. For now.

May God bless our efforts to help get America back, and put God back into our country.
God, Bless America. Bless Americans. And Bless us to start using more common sense.

1 Response to Georgia: Another Lesson Taught. But has it been Learned?

  1. Seane-Anna says:

Kudos to Georgia! I hope the state actually gets to put its new law into effect and won’t be demonized like Arizona was. And there was an interesting fact in the article you quoted. The article said that the migrant workers that farmer Brent Brinkley relied on didn’t go to Georgia because of the law. Do you know what that means? It means we can tell the liberals who oppose deportation that we don’t have to do it. If we just enforce our existing laws and pull up the welcome mat, the illegals will deport themselves. And what could be inhumane or racist about people leaving, or not entering in the first place, a place they have no right to be in?

Of course, liberals already know that illegals will self-deport if the laws are enforced, which is why liberals don’t want our immigration laws enforced. The liberals are counting on the illegals becoming their new voting bloc and giving the left a pathway to permanent power. A quest for power, not compassion, motivates liberals’ support for illegal aliens. That’s all the more reason to take back our country in 2012.
reply from Robert: You caught that too huh? I didn’t put it in the post hoping others would notice….and of course my friend, you did. The laws on the books will do the deporting themselves. Nothing else has to be done. I love that idea too. Too bad that the libs have the majority now, in the Senate. After November though, I feel that will change. Both in the Senate and the White House.
