Change is always harder when its Tough

Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.
-Arnold Bennett, British Novelist (1867-1931)

Now, with that kind of thinking my friends, there are consequences attached to how you approach this concept. Take America for instance. We have known for decades, if not longer, that we have a problem with our out of control government spending by the officials in Washington D.C.

For the most part, my friends, it doesn’t matter who is in charge either. The Democrats or the Republicans, though the democrats always go in with the idea of spending more, and the republicans go in with the idea of spending less. But they both campaign on the spending less ideal. They both know, that is the way to win office. But once in office the two parties tackle the spending problems differently.

Right now, we have Obama in office, with the idea that the only way out of the deep recession we find ourselves in now is to spend more money. It doesn’t matter that there is no money to spend…..it is being done.

Case in point, in his latest budget, that is supposed to put a halt to the spending and have spending cuts in it, the budget shows that there is 1.5 trillion dollars added to the national debt. NOW I ask you. How is that cutting spending?

Even Paul Ryan’s budget plan, which actually does cut many areas of spending from our government still adds to the deficit over a period of I think 10 years. AND THE DEMOCRATS are crying like babies about the spending cuts in it. And to be fair, there are some massive ones in there.

But my question to the politicians is this. Why in the world is cutting spending so darned hard? HMMMMM?

Actually, I can tell you the answer, if you are open to it. The answer is simple to behold.

For so many years, that I haven’t lived long enough to remember, the government has essentially had free reign on the spending. Spending at will whatever they wanted for whatever they felt they needed. And the public didn’t do anything about it, and if I was to go farther on this, the public just went about their own lives and lived them, leaving government up to the politicians. But it worked differently depending on what party was in the majority.

The Democrats, for 40+ years held total control of the government’s purse strings, spending at will, for every social program that their feeble little minds could come up with, many of them are still biting us in the butt as I speak here. Programs like the environmental stuff that has made it nearly impossible for American Oil Companies to go out and drill for our own oil. Either some little inconsequential animal that no one has ever heard of before is going to be threatened out of existence by the drilling, or the global warming crew comes out in force, forcing onto all of us the fallacies of their ideas on how mankind is destroying our planet.

But the farther away from an easy solution to the problems we face we go, the harder the drawbacks are going to be, and the more discomfort from those drawbacks we will suffer. Right now it is going to be really hard on all of us if we get the government to do the right thing. Our national debt is so much more than anyone can imagine. Imagine 14 trillion dollars and what it is going to cost us, our children, their children and their children on into the future of this great country. It is a debt that is nearly impossible to ever pay off, and yet, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama and the rest of the left cannot get it through their heads that this spending has to stop. I have heard Obama say more than once, that the only way out of the recession is to spend more. Even my 4th grade girl knows that will not work! Not on this planet anyway.

And my friends, the farther we go down this spending freeway that our government has us on, the harder it is going to be on all of us, to put a stop to it. But, mark my words….and as Rush says, do not doubt me, if we don’t stop it, it will come to a point, soon where it will stop on it’s own, and America will no longer exist as anything but a poor third world country, that has no technology and the world ignores. This is coming. The tea party candidates are out there now, working to stop it. We need more and more of them elected. I even think that people who have the right ideas, but have never thought of public office needs to run.

I know Douglas V. Gibbs of Political Pistachio in California has run this last election. It doesn’t have to be a national office. Start local if you can. I am thinking of running for an office, if there is a free spending democrat or republican in the position. Something needs to be done, or America will no longer be the land of the free and the brave…..it will only be the land of the poor and the destitute. You ready for that reality? I know I’m not.

We need to pray for guidance, and for our Heavenly Father to help Obama think a little about what he is doing to this country. I pray for Obama’s safety every day, which goes against what the liberals who read this blog think….but I also pray that his policies fail, because they are bad for this country.

May God bless our efforts to help get America back, and put God back into our country.
God, Bless America. Bless Americans. And Bless us to start using more common sense.

One Response to Change is always harder when its Tough

  1. Edisto Joe says:

    Robert,
It’s going to be up to us, the people of this great country to create the change. This past November was a clear mandate but it is starting to look more and more like business as usual in Congress. We need to keep heading to the polls and send the responsible ones back and send the others home. Democrat or Republican, it does not matter. Vote for people with a passion for fiscal responsibility, a passion for the American way, feet planted firmly on the ground and have sense enough to pull their head out of the clouds.
Good luck running for office, whatever you may decide to go after.
reply from Robert: You are so right and thanks. I was going to run for a local office but everyone in office here in Boone County that I can tell are conservatives, and they are doing good jobs. Todd Rokita is our new Congressman.
