Progressives have it wrong…..

Over and over again, we hear the politicians talking of progressives. They refer to progressives with every speech, and every ideal that they espouse.

Obama is a progressive. Notice what he believes in? It isn’t the constitution. He wants to change America. He wants to tax the people, though now he is saying he is for a spending freeze, though, it isn’t what you may think.

Hillary Clinton is a progressive. She has said so herself. She likens herself to an early 20th century progressive. She wants to change America. She doesn’t believe that the people should be in charge. Only politicians that believe as she does are qualified to do that.

To show that this isn’t a Democrat/Republican thing, John McCain is a progressive. Progressives hate profits. McCain said this: “Um, I don’t like obscene profits being made anywhere — and I’d be glad to look not just at the windfall profits tax — that’s not what bothers me — but we should look at any incentives that we are giving to people or industries or corporations that are distorting the market.”

Distorting the Market Mr McCain? Isn’t Capitalism all about making a profit? Isn’t Capitalism all about being able to have your own business and doing as well with it as possible? So what is this about obscene profits? Isn’t a profit what you start a business for? Now, I am not singling out John McCain here my friends. We have Obama who is a progressive and hates profits made by anyone, unless it is himself and his cronies. But, what we the people have to realize here is, the progressive movement has it all wrong. The progressives are anti American. Anti Constitutional. Anti people. We have to remember that the first three words of the Constitution are WE THE PEOPLE. And the writers of the Constitution meant it to be that way. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have made those three words so much bigger than the rest. They are emphasized for a reason.

But the progressives think that the people are too stupid to rule anything, just like the liberals do. The founding fathers had it all right though. They knew, that if government got too big, eventually the people would wake up and fix it.

But, in all of our presidents, I can only think of two that really had it right when it came to that ideal. George Washington and Ronald Reagan. They both knew that government was not the answer.

Washington said, “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.” And isn’t that the truth. We have allowed our government to become too big, and yet, the democrats now only wish it grow bigger. They can never have it big enough. Because they understand those words of Washington, that Government is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. They wish to be the head of that fearful master.

One way to tell about how they feel about Government, look at what they are saying now that they have control of it all. They want government to do everything. They want government to be everything. To everyone. But, when our government is run by someone else, say the Republicans or the Conservatives, and yes Martha, they are different, big government is intrusive and not right. The democrats then are not for big government because they are not fully in charge of it.

To these men, George Washington, and Ronald Reagan, the Constitution of this nation was important. George Washington said of it: “The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.” The democrats today are abandoning it because as Obama said the Constitution is flawed…….“It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.” The trouble is, the Constitution does say what the government can and CANNOT do. And that is what irks the likes of Obama. He feels that since he is in charge…..he can do what he damn well pleases, and the Constitution won’t allow that.

Reagan, on the other hand loved the Constitution as did Washington. It was and IS the founding document that this country was founded on and should be referred to everytime something comes up. And Reagan also feared government. He said: “Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a loud voice at one end and no responsibility at the other.” And watching Washington in action these days shows exactly that. A huge appetite for money at one end, and a lot of talk of responsibility at one end, and at the other, actions that have no responsibility in them or the ability to accept blame. Something that now is being passed off to everyone else. A great example is Obama still blaming Bush for the mess he has put us in.

Sure, the deficit was big when Obama took office, but if Obama had done the right thing, lowering taxes, making government smaller and been fiscally wise, the situation would have gotten better. But, unemployment has gone from about 5.5% when he took office to over 10% now. The deficit has skyrocketed along with prices of everything that we need to live. My electric bill this last two months for the first time in my life has gone way over 300 dollars for the month. Before that the biggest electric bill I ever got was only half that. Obama is spending us out of house and home and country. And only now, after all his spending, he is finally talking of a price freeze, then he subsidizes his new jobs bill that will cost billions more.

Art Laffer, who was the creator of the Laffer curve, which is what Reagan used to implement his tax cuts in the eighties, said this about what is going on now. ‘….the economy is now heading toward ‘a train wreck’ in 2011. ‘It will make the decline in U.S. output from 2010 to 2011 worse than the decline in output in 2008 and 2009, which will be catastrophic. Don’t be fooled into thinking the economy is coming out of the woods this year. Unlike most of Obama’s economic critics, we will have modest growth this year, but a sharp decline in 2011.

“The chief reason: ‘In anticipation of known tax increases, the economy will shift income and output from 2011 — the higher tax year — into 2010 — the lower tax year. As a result of this income shift, 2010 will look a lot better than it should, and 2011 will be a train wreck,’ “Meantime, Obama’s spending freeze proposal is a sham, affecting only a tiny sliver of the budget, and, by the way, it wouldn’t take place until 2011 after the midterm elections. That is, if Congress adopts it. Lawmakers say that under his plan, spending will still rise by 44.3 percent instead of 45 percent over the next 10 years. That’s why the recent GOP victory in Massachusetts was barely a tremor for the Democrats compared to the real disaster that’s coming in November.”

We have some bad times coming and our leaders know what is coming, and they do not care. It is what they are after. If not for any other reason, than to blame someone else for it, and try to come out smelling like a Rose. The trouble is, the people are awake to their deceptions, and the smell for the leaders, isn’t going to be anything like a Rose.

But Reagan also said this of Government: “….government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.”

We have to start listening to what our politicians say. They usually say the same thing over and over again, until they are caught with their pants down, then they will change suddenly. People, the sudden changes mean nothing. Just as Obama’s sudden changes of late mean nothing. He and they still mean what they have always preached. They just know that their ideals will not work and are not accepted. So, they do what they do best. Change their tune, without changing their agenda. Place the blame elsewhere. Accept none of the blame. Fool the people into falling back asleep.

We cannot, and I repeat, we cannot allow this to happen anymore. Our country….our great republic is dying on the vine. It needs us to come to her rescue. And I believe that rescue her we will. Look out Obama and you others, we are coming!!!

God Bless America, her allies, her people and her troops

About Robert P. Garding

I am a Reagan Conservative, who is very alarmed at the Liberals who have just lost their majority over our government, but continue to act like it never happened. They have to be stopped. NOW or even sooner.

Wonderful post, my friend! These “progressives” will be the death of our country if we, the people, don’t put them in their place, which is anywhere but in power. If we don’t, the prediction of Art Laffer will probably come true, and then all hell will break loose. Looks like it may be time to learn how to stockpile food, ammo, and guns. Scary times are ahead.
reply from Robert: Scary times indeed. Did you notice this week, that Obama proposed a new spending freeze? That is a laugh, because after he did it, he increased the budget, and did several other things that increased spending by trillions. Are we in trouble? Or what?

The Democrats have had control of Congress since 2006. They have done nothing since then but allow the debt to balloon. The Republicans under Bush also shoulder blame. They are a big reason we are in this mess. Obama comes along and it’s like pouring gas on the fire. Only the voters can extinguish this firestorm in spending.
I urge all to get involved with your local Tea Party and put a stop to this madness.
reply from Robert: I would love to get a Tea Party started but Jamestown is too small and I don’t know that many people. I was at the one in Downtown Indianapolis early last summer. April 15th. LIstened to Greg Garrison speak. Was great. If you have any ideals….maybe we could get together and get one going.
