Democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.
The Constitution was written to organize a strong national government for the American states. Previously, the nation’s leaders had established a national government under the Articles of Confederation (see ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION). But the Articles granted independence to each state. They lacked the authority to make the states work together to solve national problems.
After the states won independence in the Revolutionary War (1775-1783), they faced the problems of peacetime government. The states had to enforce law and order, collect taxes, pay a large public debt, and regulate trade among themselves. They also had to deal with Indian tribes and negotiate with other governments. Leading statesmen, such as George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, began to discuss the creation of a strong national government under a new constitution.
Hamilton helped bring about a national convention that met in Philadelphia in 1787 to revise the Articles of Confederation. But a majority of the delegates at the convention decided instead to write a new plan of government-the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution established not merely a league of states but a government that exercised its authority directly over all citizens. The Constitution also defined clearly the powers of the national government. In addition, it established protection for the rights of the states and of every individual.
The last paragraph here says it all when it comes to the new argument that Obama has, that the Constitution doesn’t tell him what he can do to the people. It defines clearly the powers of the national government. All he has to do is read the constitution and then understand what the document says. Because I don’t think that Obama has any concept of what our founding document has in it. Nor does he even care. And to be able to say something like that about the President of the United States shows a complete lack of what is right in this whole situation.
The president should at all times, represent this country. The president should at all times look to the people and God for guidance, because we are a Christian nation.
And if there are any questions about his Citizenship or anything else that may hurt his presidency, he should do everything he can to clear it all up…..Not be like Obama and yell “Racist’s” everytime the subject comes up.
We should look to someone who would want to do everything possible to be the best president that we have ever had, instead of someone who just wants to get what he/she wants.
A PRESIDENT should have America’s best interests at heart, mind and soul. Not go around the world apologizing for everything your country has done, or is yet to do.
The president should look to history to tell him/her what needs to be done at any one time. It has been shown clearly, in the past, that getting an economy jump started and moving, does not take spending, it takes saving money. Lowering taxes, not making sure that taxes have to go up as this administration is doing. Representing your people does not mean listening to lobbyists, and then following their council as Obama and so many other Presidents before him have. He has to listen to that quiet voice of the Lord. He has to listen to the people. They are the heartbeat of this great nation.
Unnecessary spending should be curtailed and the government should save money any time that it can, because this money is not theirs. It is ours. You know, the People? And we the taxpayers are not made out of money. Yet the government is taking billions from us every year. A lot of it unnecessarily.
The Constitution, is a guideline, on how this country was founded and how it should be run, and it will never lead anyone in the wrong direction, unless it is changed to do things it was never meant to do.
What goes wrong, is when the Politicians take it upon themselves, as Obama, Pelosi, Reid and many others have done, and deciding that the founding document isn’t something they can work with because it doesn’t tell them they can do what they want. This kind of thinking has been going on for generations now, and the trouble is, it is getting worse, not better. We have so many in Washington DC right now that do not care to follow the dictates of the founding fathers. They would rather have someone come out with reports that says they were scandalous, and bigoted and horrible men, instead of noting that they were divinely inspired when it came to this country. But that in itself isn’t everything that needs to be done. It is as Reagan said: “Democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.”
It is about time that we the people started electing our representatives not because of the color of their skin or their sex, or lack of, or their religion or their ability to speak. But solely by the thought of “will this person be good for America? Does he/she want to follow the Constitution, and do everything he/she can to keep America on the right track.” And this person needs to know that Freedom has to be fought for at every junction of the road. If it isn’t, then you will be set on the road to freedomlessness, and anarchy……in other words my fellow Americans, the road that we are on today.
If we do not stay vigilant and save our freedoms, we will no longer have any freedoms to save or enjoy. And that is coming. You can see it as plain as the sun if you look. The signs are all there.
It’s not too late to save our Republic. Its not too late, but that little point of no return, is on the horizon. Mark my words. It’s in our future if we do not change what is going on here today. We have to get the enemies of our form of government out of our government.
