President Barack Obama introduces federal appeals court Judge Sonia Sotomayor, as his nominee for the Supreme Court…

Doesn't he look like he is about to kiss her?

Doesn't he look like he is about to kiss her?

In a move that he said was after long and serious thought, Obama picked the most liberal and unqualified woman for the position that has been vacated by Justice David Souter. Now, Souter wasn’t much of a Conservative Judge, but there couldn’t be a worse pick for the vacated position than this Hispanic lady. But who is going to say anything against her? Probably no one of any consequence, hence, she will probably be approved and we will have a new complete liberal who, (in her own words) will be where “policy is made.” If you don’t believe me, here are her own words:

All of the legal defense funds out there, they’re looking for people with Court of Appeals experience because it is — Court of Appeals is where policy is made. And I know, and I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don’t make law, I know. (laughing) Okay, I know. I know. I’m not promoting it and I’m not advocating it. I’m –you know. (laughing).

Now here is the problem. First off, the Court of Appeals is not where policy is made. She laughs and jokes about it. That is who she is. She makes light of it and jokes about what she determines her purpose to be. She is the embodiment of the criticism of a judge or a justice who is all wrong for the highest court in the land.

Will the Republicans back this idea up? NO, I seriously doubt it. They do not want to be perceived as racist, or sexist, so they will probably help her get appointed. But we have to think about this here people. Maybe even get ahold of our republican representatives, and let them know they have to NOT approve her.

The media is already doing their part to push her into the position. At the New Republic, a liberal journal of opinion, Jeffrey Rosen, the legal affairs editor, wrote this about her:

“Her opinions, although competent, are viewed by former procecutors as not especially clean or tight, and sometimes miss the forest for the trees. It’s customary, for example, for Second Circuit judges to circulate their draft opinions to invite a robust exchange of views. Sotomayor, several former clerks complained, rankled her colleagues by sending long memos that didn’t distinguish between sutantive and trivial points, with petty editing suggestions — fixing types and the like — rather than focusing on the core analytical issues.” People, she is not the brain they are making her out to be. She is not a Constitutional jurist. She is an affirmative action case if I have ever seen one. And on top of that, she has put down white men in favor of Latina woman. She has claimed that the court is all about making policy. So there is a golden opportunity for the Republican party here, yet the question remains. Will the Republicans have the backbone to do it?

blind justice, doesn't see race, sex, or discriminate.

blind justice, doesn't see race, sex, or discriminate.

Rush today brought up a great point. Do you remember the picture of a lady holding the scales of justice? You remember that she was blindfolded? She was blindfolded my friends because Justice, is supposed to be blind. Blind to the fact that someone is black, or white or brown or red. Blind to the fact that someone is male or female or gay or otherwise. Blind to the fact of anything, so nothing will cloud the decision when it comes time to give it. The decision then will be made on the basis of facts that have been presented. Not on the facts of race, gender or color.

Obama's pick is not blind to race, creed or sexual inuendo.

Obama's pick is not blind to race, creed or sexual inuendo.

But Obama’s pick will not be blind to these things. She has said so herself. She will rule with racist qualities, and sexist qualities. She has already said so herself. So what Obama said when he announced that he had picked her, was not the truth. He lied when he said:

“Of the many responsibilities granted to a president by our Constitution, few are more serious or more consequential than selecting a Supreme Court justice. The members of our highest court are granted life tenure, often serving long after the presidents who appointed them. And they are charged with the vital task of applying principles put to paper more than 20 centuries ago to some of the most difficult questions of our time.

So I don’t take this decision lightly. I’ve made it only after deep reflection and careful deliberation.

And while there are many qualities that I admire in judges across the spectrum of judicial philosophy, and that I seek in my own nominee, there are a few that stand out that I just want to mention.

First and foremost is a rigorous intellect, a mastery of the law, an ability to hone in on the key issues and provide clear answers to complex legal questions.

Second is a recognition of the limits of the judicial role, an understanding that a judge’s job is to interpret, not make law, to approach decisions without any particular ideology or agenda, but rather a commitment to impartial justice, a respect for precedent, and a determination to faithfully apply the law to the facts at hand.

These two qualities are essential, I believe, for anyone who would sit on our nation’s highest court. And yet these qualities alone are insufficient. We need something more.

For as Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, the life of the law has not been logic, it has been experience; experience being tested by obstacles and barriers, by hardship and misfortune; experience insisting, persisting, and ultimately overcoming those barriers. It is experience that can give a person a common touch and a sense of compassion, an understanding of how the world works and how ordinary people live.

And that is why it is a necessary ingredient in the kind of justice we need on the Supreme Court…..”

People, he is doing nothing but blowing a smoke screen for what he is really doing. Finding the person, who will be hard to refuse because of racial or sexual discrimination, yet, who is as liberal as he is. We need to fight this one folks, because she will be around LONG AFTER Obama is gone…..and damaging this country to boot. She is anti Constitutional, and in that she will do what she can to rule past it. Once that is done, then we might as well kiss another part of our founding documents goodbye. Because that is where they are being taken.

God Bless America and her troops
God Bless my readers, my listeners on BTR and my viewers on You Tube…..
