I can just see the Democrats cringing….

ussoldiersatcheckpoint.jpg

I have been watching the news over the last couple of days, and knowing that the Democrats are totally invested in defeat in this war, they should be cringing from what has been happening.

The other day, I heard from Sean Hannity or Neal Boortz or Glenn Beck, that a couple of groups, who didn’t like Al-Qaeda, nor us, were siding with us in the war because of the surge, as they suddenly felt that we were going to win this war. And with the good news around Iraq today, one of them about a trap being set for Al-Qaeda around Baghdad, it seems that the U.S. Military and the Iraqi Military are starting to work together nicely, and good things are starting to happen.

I am just waiting for the Democrats and the whimpy Republicans in the house and the senate, to start doing what they can, to make the good that is happening stop. And Mark my words people, it IS GOING TO HAPPEN. They can’t stand that we may just win this afterall. But here is the latest story that I got from the Reuters wire a little while ago.

U.S. troops set trap for militants near Baghdad

by Paul Tait

The U.S. military said on Thursday it was setting a trap to “eliminate” al Qaeda militants around Baghdad, but also said 12 American soldiers had been killed in the past two days, mostly in roadside bombings.
The toll of civilian casualties continued to rise after a suicide bomber killed 16 people by ramming his truck into a government building near the northern city of Kirkuk.
Tens of thousands of U.S. and Iraqi soldiers are pushing on with simultaneous operations in Baghdad and to the north, south and west of the capital under Operation Phantom Thunder, a new plan aimed at rooting out al Qaeda fighters and other militants.
The latest offensive comes after the U.S. military completed the build-up of it’s forces in Iraq to 156,000 soldiers and aimed to deny militants sanctuary in the farmlands and towns surrounding Baghdad.
“To the extent that you can eliminate them, we will,” said U.S. military spokesman Rear Admiral Mark Fox.
“And if you’ve got it properly cordoned then they’re going to flee into somebody’s arms. It’s a trap.”
Hard fighting was expected in the next 45-60 days, he said.
In the worst incident for the military in the past 48 hours, five soldiers were killed when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in northeastern Baghdad on Thursday. Three Iraqi civilians and an Iraqi interpreter also died.
Another roadside bomb killed four U.S. soldiers in west Baghdad on Wednesday. Such bombs are by far the biggest killers of U.S. forces in Iraq.
Washington and U.S. commanders say that some of the most sophisticated roadside bombs — “explosively formed penetrators,” or EFP’s — are still being brought in to Iraq from neighboring Iran, a charge Tehran denies.
“I know that inside of my battle space, there are munitions clearly marked with Iranian markings, and I am losing many of my soldiers to EFP’s,” Major-General Rick Lynch, whose command stretches south from Baghdad to the Euphrates River and west to the Iranian border, told Reuters in an interview.
A total of 3,545 U.S. soldiers have been killed since the start of the unpopular war in March 2003.

Now I have to say, that the majority of the people I talk to do not like the war, but (and this is a BIG BUT here people) they also say that we HAVE to win this war. They also say that they wish that the press would report the truth instead of spinning it into something insidious and wrong. The same with the democrats.

And their complaint with the Republicans? I am glad you asked that. Cause I have the answer to that one too. Their complaint with the republicans is that they do not have a backbone to stand up to the liberals and the others, that keep shouting out their agendas against the war, and against the immigration problem (and on this I mean against fixing it by enforcing the existing laws). The politicians in Washington really need to be replaced. Starting with Ted Kennedy, then working all the way down the house, and the senate, and then ending with the president.

The president, when this whole thing started was doing the right things….but then he lost his backbone and became a coward too……cowering down to the whims and wishes of people who do not care for the well being of the United States. And this kind of thinking has to stop……

…..And the solution is? Let your representatives know that you mean business. Either they do what you want them to do, and stop trying to think of new ways to explain what is going on, or they will be replaced. We can and should do that, to all of the ones in our government, who do not keep the well being of our country and our countries security close to their hearts. I have no other words to say about this whole mess.

There are plenty of sites out there now that give you the phone numbers, and snail mail addresses and the email address of your representatives. Get ahold of them and let them know that you mean business. Tell them to get off of this stupid kick they are on now (Trent Lott especially, since he started it the other day)when he said that ‘talk radio is running this country.’ But here is the problem Mr Lott, the people have finally had enough and they are starting to stand up and raise their voices. Only about 20% of the people listen to talk radio Mr. Lott, and about 80% of the people are against your bills. The numbers do not add up and we are smart enough to know that. So stop making excuses, and accept the fact that you have all been caught with your pants down, and you need to regain your composure, and start doing the right things, instead of lying all the time to cover your sorry asses.

  1. Great post! I know we are within spittin’ distance from victory, and it’s good to know pro-victory bloggers are making the case to keep the pressure on the Congress.

    Take care!

  2. Mark Colegrove says:

Do most conservatives have a loss of memory or maybe they accept outright lies from this administration which placed us into this debacle.

TRUTH#1. Their were no WMD (ask Colin Powell his thoughts now after he has admitted to arm twisting from this administration to sell this bull crap to the U.N.). I guess they did not believe the U.N. Inspection team because they wanted war from the begining.

TRUTH#2. Thier was no Al Quida in Irag at the time or after 911 when Saddam was still in power. As a tyrant in full control of his country, why would he want to share power with another faction, especially one that was prominately Shite.

TRUTH#3. Over 3500 American soldiers and 10’s of thousands of Iraq “Human Beings” died because of this administrations lies and deceit, hell bent on war. Ask (5 deferments) VP Dick Cheyney to go over and fight and support his lies and deceit! In fact, I think all conservatives should go to Irag to save our blessed country.

THE MOTHER OF ALL TRUTHS. This is one US citizen (who does not happen to be conservative or liberal) who is is proud to be an intelligent American, not an Idealogue.

“DO NOT FORGET 911”, BUT ALSO “DO NOT FORGET VIETNAM”
