It’s funny. For years now, the democrats have been taking it to the Republicans whether they are doing something wrong or not. If they are not, then the democrats make something up. And not very often do the Republicans turn against the Democrats and accuse them of something. But when they do, all hell breaks loose because the democrats cannot take it. That is what happened this week.
Rudy Giuliani has turned up the heat on the democrats, and they do not like it one bit. They can’t take what they will dish out and the proof of that is what they did when Guiliani said what he did, and also proof of it is what Jack Murtha said today when McCain talked with Jon Stewart. All of it is being documented here now.
Yesterday, Giuliani spoke and all I can say is, it is about time a Republican gave it to the democrats letting them, and everyone else know just where the Liberal party stands. And the funny part? The Democrats do not like it one bit. Here is what Rudy said:
RUDY: This war ends when they stop planning to come here to kill us, but until then, if I have to say anything about it, the lesson that I learned coming out of September 11, 2001, is: never, ever again will this country be on defense waiting for them to attack us. (applause) The United States of America will be on offense (applause) and make no mistake about it, the Democrats want to put us back on defense.
Finally, a Republican has said it, and the Democrats are crying like “stuck pigs” that he is being unfair to them, when in all actuality he is calling them out on their weaknesses. And they do not like it one bit. They are screaming “foul” and now will probably come up with some juicy bit of nothing that they think will stop him, but it won’t. He continued on with more……
Giuliani: The Democrats, and I could make a lot of other points about this — do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorists’ war against us. But I listened a little bit to the Democratic debates and I think I could be slightly wrong on this, but I think this is almost correct. If one of them gets elected, it’s almost like we’re going on defense, where we’ve got a timetable for withdrawal of Iraq. We’re going to wave the white flag there. We’re going to try to cut back on the Patriot Act. We’re going to cut back on electronic surveillance. We’re going to cut back on interrogation. We’re going to cut back, cut back, cut back — and we’ll be back in our pre-September 11 mentality of being on defense.
The question is going to be, “How long does it take and how many losses do we have along the way?” And I truely believe if we go back on defense for a period of time, we can ultimately have more losses and it’s going to go on much longer. the power of our ideas is so great we’ll eventually prevail. The real question is, “How do we get there?” Do we get there in a way in which it is as expeditious as possible and with as little loss of life as possible, or do we get there in some circuitous fashion?
They hate us, not because of anything we’ve done. This has nothing to do with any aggression on the part of the United States of America. It has nothing to do with anything America is taking from anyone. It has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms that we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world, because the freedoms that we have and the freedoms that we want to share with the world are in conflict with their perverted interpretation of their religion, their maniacal, violent, and perverted interpretation of their religion in which they train their young to be suicide bombers, and they train them to hate you and despise you, and they train them to hate your religion, and to not allow you to have religion of your own, or anyone else. They hate us for the reasons that are the best about us, because we have freedom of religion, because we have freedom for women, because women are allowed to participate in society, because we have elections, because we have a free economy. Well, we’re not giving that up, and your not going to come and take it from us.
There you go. Rudy setting himself apart from the field of pretenders to the throne of the Presidency! He just said, exactly what has been needed for a long time. He just said it, and it’s funny. The democrats do not like it one little bit. They can say it about the Republicans, but it CANNOT be said about them in their eyes. Well, now it has.
Then, today, we had John McCain making a joke, and Jack Murtha blows a gasket about it……like he is the only pure one around. Mr. Murtha, over the last year, you have said much much worse about our troops and no one said anything. Maybe they should have! Here was this exchange:
April 26, 2007 — Sen. John McCain, who officially announced his bid for the 2008 White House Wednesday, stopped by “Good Morning America” to talk about his campaign and ended up defending himself about a joke.
The Arizona Republican said that people upset by his comments about IEDs to Jon Stewart on Tuesday night’s “Daily Show” should “lighten up.” After being grilled by Stewart , McCain jokingly told him that he had a present for him — an IED that he could place under his desk.
Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., was furious and publicly assailed McCain on the House floor.
“Imagine a presidential candidate making a joke about IEDs when our kids are getting blown up,” he said.
Responding to Murtha’s reaction, McCain said that he was going to use comedy during his campaign, just as he did during his military duty.
“I don’t know how to react to that kind of hysteria to a comedy show,” he told Diane Sawyer on “GMA.” “All I’m going to say to Murtha and others. … Lighten up and get a life.”
On Wednesday, the same day that McCain announced his presidential run, 218 members of the House voted for a bill that contained a troop withdrawal timetable. McCain said that he would rather lose the election than abandon the conviction that a troop withdrawal from Iraq was a bad idea.
“Everything that I know. … That I’ve learned about my life … dictates that would be a disaster,” he said today. “That opinion is shared by most national security experts.”
When asked what he would do differently than the Bush administration, McCain said, “I would certainly go to the American people and explain to them what’s at stake. … I do know that I don’t need on-the-job training.”
It is funny. I wish that YOUTUBE had the video for Jack Murtha’s outburst because it was almost hilarious. Maybe tomorrow I will have it. You just had to hear it. If your on the television tonight, and you get to hear it, listen. Jack Murtha needs to check his own talks against the troops and the war before he yells and screams about what someone else says. Mr. Murtha……you are another one. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
