Sometimes, they get it right. Even now!

“The economy is a big issue and concern for folks. I mean, the unemployment, trying to make ends meet, gas prices, food prices going up. Some of our viewers are complaining, they get frustrated, even angered, when they see the first family jetting around, different vacations and so forth, sometimes maybe they think under color of state business and that you’re out of touch, that you don’t really know what they’re experiencing right now.”
-Larry Connor-KMOV-TV, St. Louis, interviewing President Obama

One thing that he left out there, when he said that we get frustrated, seeing the first family jetting around, different vacations, is he should have said, ‘on our dime’. But this is great. Finally, someone had the cahones to confront the president on what we all feel as Americans, and what we feel about him. And what did the president say?

OBAMA: I don’t know how many viewers you’re talking about that say that –

I have never considered Obama a stupid man, after all he was smart enough to dupe us into getting into the White House, but he can play a stupid man so well. He knows this reporter is telling the truth. He knows a majority of us are talking about that. But he doesn’t care. The interview went like this:

CONNERS: The economy is a big issue and concern for folks. I mean, the unemployment, trying to make ends meet, gas prices, food prices going up. Some of our viewers are complaining, they get frustrated, even angered, when they see the first family jetting around, different vacations and so forth, sometimes maybe they think under color of state business and that you’re out of touch, that you don’t really know what they’re experiencing right now.

OBAMA: Well, I don’t know how many viewers you’re talking about that say that.

CONNERS: We do hear from some.

OBAMA: I hear from all kinds of …

CONNERS: I’m sure you do.

OBAMA: …viewers about everything. But the fact of the matter is, I think if you look at my track record, I’m raising a family here. When we travel, we gotta travel through Secret Service in Air Force One. That’s not my choice. I think most folks understand how hard I work and how hard this administration’s working on behalf of the American people.

Now this is a local reporter in St. Louis, KMOV-TV “Eyeball News”, as Rush calls CBS. The anchor, Larry Conners, had interviewed Obama and in a random act of journalism came out with these questions. My friends, this question is never asked of this president. Everyone in the media has been to scared to be labeled as a “racist” to ask this president anything like this. But it finally happened.

CONNERS: After the oral arguments in the Supreme Court many were saying the plan’s going to be rejected. You apparently believed enough that you were compelled to say you were confident the Supreme Court would not overturn what the Congress had done. Critics say that you were using this as a bully pulpit trying to intimidate the justices and you stepped over the line.

OBAMA: The reason we give them lifetime tenure is they don’t get intimidated, because, you know, they understand that they’re immune from those kinds of political considerations. The point I was making, which is one that I think most legal scholars would agree with, is that although the Supreme Court has the power to overturn congressional laws that violate the Constitution, it would be extraordinary for them to step in and overturn a law dealing with one of the biggest segments of our economy that everybody acknowledges is national in nature, under the commerce clause. That hasn’t been done since before the New Deal.

On that point, Rush says he is wrong. And he is. This president has no respect for the Constitution, and has as much said so, when he said it was a “flawed document. Obama has done this and he is lying when he says he hasn’t. Inside I am sure he was chuckling when he mentioned ‘The constitution wouldn’t allow it.’ And legal scholars do not agree with Obama.

OBAMA: For the courts to take that step would be extraordinary and I don’t think they’re gonna take it.

Here our boy president is saying that you can’t intimidate the justices. HA. He tries it almost every time that he talks to them. Don’t you people see this?

Obama has been playing a ‘cat and mouse’ game with the American public ever since the unpopularity of his ideals has come to light. If he can’t talk his way out of it, he threatens. If that doesn’t work he gets angry. If that doesn’t work, he changes the subject. He has tried all of those things, and yet, it hasn’t worked…..for most of us anyway. I know, I am waiting with ‘baited breath’ to see what the president will do next time to get the focus off of his dismal record. Mark my words, there will be a next time because he wants to be re elected. The focus has to be taken off of his dismal record for that to happen.

To give Larry Connors credit, in his closing statements to the camera, without the president, he said:

The President dodged the question, and there was not a lot of time in this format to ask a lot of follow up questions. Critics are not concerned about his need for secret service or Air Force One. They’re questioning all the family vacations. Where, when, how often, all at taxpayer expense, especially in light of this economy. Hallelujah. Someone finally gets it in the media. Kudos to Larry Connors for having the guts to ask what we all are feeling.

One Response to Sometimes, they get it right. Even now!

Amazing! Kudos to Larry Connors! We need more journalists like him, especially in this election year. You are so right, Robert, sometimes they get it right. Let’s hope this isn’t the last time.
reply from Robert: It is like Rush says, once in a while they fall off their wagon and actually see something. Then they turn around and get back on it and all is forgotten. But I am glad it happens once in a while.
