Ground Zero Mosque, YES. Greek Orthodox Church, NO

Why is it, that we cannot say no to any religion except for Christianity?

Are we going to be fooled again, or are we going to stop this one. Cartoon taken from http://www.comicallyincorrect.com

It seems that this country’s political correctness is getting it in trouble again, as usual. Political correctness is something that is wrong, no matter how you slice it. Take this ground zero mosque business. Here are some facts you might not be aware of, that you need to know before you go spouting off that the Mosque has to be there. The cartoon to the left was taken, with permission from Comically Incorrect

First off, Iran and Ahmadinejad want to help fund this building of the Mosque at ground zero. You have to ask why. The reason is, it would be a victory for the Islamic jihad against the United States to have a “Victory Mosque” built where the Twin Towers were brought down by the Islamic Terrorists on September 11, 2001. What better way to tell the world, ‘we got rid of the capitalist pigs in America, and are now replacing them with the way things should be. Islamic Sharia law.’ Don’t doubt me on this. They are trying to insert Sharia law into America, and the problem with that is, the Constitution is not compatible with Sharia law. One would have to go. Guess which one.

And another reason, was given in this article that I found this morning on the internet. Sorry, I don’t have the URL but the article was in an internet paper called Hellenic News of America at http://www.hellenicnews.com.

Ground zero mosque “yes,” Greek Orthodox Church near ground zero “no”

If this is an issue of “rights,” then why was the Greek Orthodox Church denied its rights only to have those rights given to the mosque?

The ground zero mosque has got the go ahead to be built blocks away from Ground Zero, yet a Greek Orthodox Church that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks has not been allowed to be rebuilt. What is going on with that? So it’s OK for a mosque to be built there but not a church? I thought this was America.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church stood in the shadow of the Twin Towers and was crushed when the South Tower collapsed.
George Demos, the Republican candidate for Congress in the First District of New York, called the delay in rebuilding the church a disgrace and blamed the Port Authority for the hold up.

“What an outrage that our government has put roadblocks in the path of its own citizens trying rebuild their beloved church destroyed by Islamic extremists,” he said. “[This is done] while Saudi Arabia, a nation that prohibits people from even wearing a cross or the star of David, now provokes the families of those who lost loved ones by apparently funneling money to build a mosque at the same location.”

The church was supposed to be relocated to a nearby site in a land swap deal with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Demos says the project has been mired in bureaucratic red tape for most of the last decade.

There is absolutely no excuse for this. No members of the Greek Orthodox Church were involved in the 9/11 attacks, so why is it that they have not gotten the go ahead to re-build their church, yet it’s full speed ahead for the mosque? Something is wrong here, as Bill Murray said in Stripes. Something is Verry Verrrrrry wrong here……and this time it seems people are waking up to the wrong that is being committed here.

Are we really interested in what the terrorist states have to say about this mosque? I think we should be. If Iran and Ahmadinejad want to help fund this, then we have to ask, what is in it for them? There is an answer you know. The answer is, they want the jihad that is happening here in America to succeed. What better way to get that success started, than to have the Victory Mosque built on ground zero, where 3000 Americans lost their lives to a cowardly attack by the Islamic Terrorists on September 11th, nearly nine years ago?

Bravo– In my surfing the blogosphere I have not seen someone put 2+2 together, visa vie the ‘Cultural Center’ and The Greek Church. Fox is the only news outlet to my knowledge to report the same equation.
What a crying shame! On all counts—
    PLU!
reply from Robert: Thank you. I have wondered about that myself. I heard Rush talk about it once….and then nothing. Guess they are trying to keep us from knowing the truth.

  2. There should be no roadblocks to the building/rebuilding of either of these structures. The Greek Orthodox Church has not been banned from rebuilding, but they have been hampered because of disagreements over size and location of the proposed new structure. Those differences should be settled and the church rebuilt.

But there should also be no prohibition to the building of the Islamic center two blocks away from Ground Zero. Two equate that center with the terrorists who flew the planes into the Twin Towers would be the same as equating Timothy McVeigh with patriotism or Christianity. After what Jim Jones did, should be ban the building of churches? Of course not.

Not all Muslims are interested in destroying “infidels” any more than Christians are interested in destroying people of other faiths. Yet both religions have extremists who are committed to doing just that. Compare the Old Testament to the Koran and there are similarities in tone and style. Yet, as a Christian, I choose to follow the New Testament exhortation to LOVE.

We seem to forget that those who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers were members of many faiths, including Muslim and Christian. The animals who crashed the planes into the Towers were no more representatives of the Muslim religion than McVeigh was representative of patriotic Christians.
reply from Robert: You are right here, but, there is a right and a wrong thing to do here. Like I said, it is they’re right to build there, But is it right? I have been reading on this, and the only reason they want this mosque there is for Victory. They say that they need it for the worship of the Muslim *Islamic* people. But they do not mention that there are already many Mosques in Manhattan and New York already. It is only being proposed to push a victory into this whole mess. Therefore, it isn’t right to build it, even though, they have a right to build it there.

Thanks, Rambler, for injecting a bit of logic into the debate. This article is a bunch of misguided nonsense that allows an emotional appeal to uninformed people to overshadow any sort of rational discussion…sometimes a little fact checking goes a long way, eh?
reply from Robert: The information in the article isn’t misguided, but isn’t “using a bunch of misguided nonsense that allows an emotional appeal to uninformed people to overshadow any sort of rational discussion” what the liberals are always doing? And if things don’t go they’re way they get nasty? Happy Labor Day to you, anyway.
