It is almost done now. President Bush gave his farewell speech last night, on 01/15/09, and as always the man was a class act. Obama, whether people think it now or not, has a class act to follow, and I predict again, that history will be good to George W. Bush. He did everything he could from the onset, to keep this nation safe, even though towards the end he did some dumb things. But the way I look at it, if you were doing what you could to keep this nation safe, and all the liberal faction could do when talking about you is to tell everyone that you are the worst there has ever been….eventually I would give up. For George W. Bush, this was the case.
When he came into office, our nation was going into a recession, he pulled us out. Yet even during the “booming” years of economy the Liberal press and people like John Kerry, Jack Murtha, Dick Durbin, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, etc etc etc, kept saying Americans were losing their jobs. The economy was bad. When it wasn’t. The Democrats worked full time on bringing the economy down, so they could have something to blame Bush for. And now that it has finally started going down, they are blaming him completely.
In his farewell speech, he said:
“There is legitimate debate about many of these decisions. But there can be little debate about the results,” the two-term Republican said. “America has gone more than seven years without another terrorist attack on our soil,” he said.
Some of Bush’s actions after the 9/11 attacks, such as establishing a detention center for terrorism suspects at Guantanamo and approving harsh interrogation methods that human rights groups said amounted to torture, severely damaged America’s image abroad. Obama has vowed to close the facility.
“Our enemies are patient, and determined to strike again,” Bush said in a brief address from the White House with Vice President Dick Cheney, his Cabinet and several dozen selected citizens in attendance. “Good and evil are present in this world, and between the two there can be no compromise.”
In that last line, President Bush has hit on the one thing that the Democrats and a lot of the media just do not get. And that is, our enemies are patient, and determined to strike again. Why do you think that they are all applauding the fact that Americans voted in someone who has vowed to end the war and bring our troops home? Why do you think they are applauding the fact that he wants to close Guantanemo? If you still can’t see, it is because they now see their chance to do to America, what they couldn’t while Bush was in office. And that is, to attack us again, and work to destroy our infrastructure. Now, we will have a president who will work with them, because he does not believe that there are evil people who actively seek to destroy America.
As for the libs and their interpretation of his speech, they will undoubtedly say the end of a bad time is finally here. But they have no clue what is on the horizon. And I really hope that I am wrong, but once Bush is gone, the enemy will strike again, if Obama does what he said he would. And with the Democrats totally in charge, who will be to blame for that? Why Bush of course. And chances are, they will get away with that ruse, though the blame will be theirs, and their alone.
I stand and say that Bush did a good job in keeping America safe and secure, under a ferocious attack on him from the left the whole time he was president.
Remember the democratic uproar over Bush’s attempted wiretapping of foreign communications in an attempt to keep America safe? Guess who is going to implement those very things, but going even farther by wiretapping Americans? You guessed it if you said Obama, yet now, the press and the liberals in government are all for it. Go figure. Bush couldn’t do anything right to keep America safe, yet, Obama, even in doing the same things, can’t do anything wrong. Hmmmm….Liberal Bias? You bet. Will they be held accountable for it as the Republicans would? NO That would never happen. And until it does, America is in trouble.
Another post that I came across that said it just right, was at PoorGrlzone, with her post about his final speech.

Great post, Robert! I also think history will be fair to Bush, especially when the terrorists start attacking us again after the appeaser-in-chief takes office Tuseday.
You’re right, our enemies are sooooooo glad they now have a wuss to deal with; someone who really doesn’t believe that America is worth defending. During the campaign Obama tried to sound tough, saying he would even bomb Pakistan, our ally, to get Osama. Now that he’s won the election, the false messiah is backing off of that tough stance.
In an interview with Katie Couric, Obama stated that while killing or capturing Osama would be best, he could live with Osama being cornered in his cave, unable to act. In other words, he could live with the condition that Bush put Osama in. Keeping Osama cornered and paralyzed was a failure when Bush did it but it’ll be hailed by the left as a great success when Obama does it.
Liberals will NEVER bring themselves to admit that Bush kept us safe since 9/11. But honest and fair minded Americans do admit this, and are grateful for it. We are the ones who will ensure that Bush is treated justly by history because we treat him justly now.
Again, great post!
To you closed minded liberals,
Matthew 13
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
” ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’
