Another Episode of Where We Are Going Wrong!

In an already infamous speech in February’s second week, of this year, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams said that the introduction of parts of Islamic “sharia” law in Britain “seems unavoidable”, since there are so many devout Muslims here who refuse to recognize British law and because of that will not follow it.

Bowing to that inevitability, he said that it would “help to maintain social cohesion”, Williams, the leader of the Anglican Church, was professing to be tolerant of another religion, but in reality, he was really only giving in to the extremists, who will not follow the laws of the country they are in.

Now, in this little blurb of stupidity, is the one thing that is causing all of our problems, not only in England, but also here in the United States.

And the problem I see here? We have laws that no one is enforcing or heeding. Why is there a need for laws, if no one will follow them, and there is no consequences to not following them?

The point brought up with the Archbishop of Canterbury, was that since the Muslim’s would NOT follow British law, while in Britain, then the laws would have to be changed.

The same thing is going on here in the United States, with the illegal immigrants, and our open border mess. Leaving our borders open, so that the immigrants can keep coming across illegally, is stupid and dangerous to our country. And now that there are 20 to 30 million of them and maybe more, so our government keeps saying that it would be impossible to now enforce the laws, so the laws have to be changed. And that kind of thinking is where all this trouble is coming from.

When we make laws, they need to be enforced, not ignored. If they are ignored, then there is no reason to have laws.

The first time that laws are changed because they are too hard to enforce, they become easier to change the next time when they become inconvenient. And that is where anarchy comes from.

And that is where we are heading, with our immigration problems. This is where England will be heading if they change their laws because one group will not follow them.

Whatever happened to the rule of law?

God Bless America
God Bless our Troops…always,
God Bless my readers, listeners and watchers……

We better get the balls to either enforce our laws or deport those who refuse to follow them. If British Muslims want Sharia law so much then Britian should deport them to Pakistan, Iran, or Saudi Arabia. If Mexicans are so proud to be Mexican, if they don’t want to have to speak English, then deport them to Mexico. Give them what they want IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES, while keeping our own nations’ cultures, language, and laws intact.

Youre so on target my friend..there IS no rule of law anymore now that the Libs have taken over the press and media…………and are vying for the White House!

  3. Jim says:

I have to strongly disagree with you on your views of immigration. If Mexicans want to speak spanish than they can speak spanish.. Is that not freedom? WE have NO national language in the consitution nor national religion.

Further more, if a Muslim whom came to America & wanted to practice shia law.. Then, ok.. If shia law contradicts (IE they stone women for not wearing a head scarf, or mercy kill) then the USA has laws to deal with that. That is called assault & murder & the later is a capital crime punishable by death. My point is if they wish to practice those laws in USA, then they have to have some give in our customs to that degree.

As far as laws not being enforced I’m sure your local state has laws on the book that prohibit J-walking, although this measure is never enforced. Maybe, if more laws went to referendum their would be more criticisms because those laws would represent what the vast majority want.

Jim, it is people like you who are going to be the death of this country. Why do you have such a problem with defending America’s culture? You are a shining product of multiculturalism, and that’s not a compliment. You have been stripped of any vestige of pride in our nation’s heritage, and that’s a shame. Let me explain some things to you.

Jim, you’re partially right. We don’t have a national language officially designated in the Constitution, but we DO have a national tongue. It’s English, no matter how badly people like you want to deny it. English is America’s national language for reasons far deeper than just being mandated in a document, even one as great as the Constitution.

You see, Jim, English is our national tongue as a matter of HERITAGE. It is the language of the Anglo-Protestant culture which founded America. The English language binds us to that culture and its ideas of individual liberty and representative government. When we speak English we affirm our heritage and the fact that America and her political ideals are the product of a specific civilization. Requiring immigrants to learn English is a vital step in their assimilation into that civilization. And learning English shows that immigrants want to become Americans rather than just be in America taking advantage of the freedom and opportunity she offers.

We Americans have a heritage Jim and, like every other people, we have the right to preserve it, all of it, including the religious part. No, America doesn’t have a national religion but we do have a religious heritage and it’s not Islam. Our religious heritage is Christianity, and it doesn’t have a Sharia–not “shia”–law. Part of our Christian heritage is the idea of religious freedom and the separation of church and state. This does NOT mean that religion, i.e. Christianity, can have no influence on the state or the laws it enacts. It does mean that the state can’t enforce specifically religious edicts.

In case you didn’t know, Jim, Islam does not recognize church/state separation. It is the goal of Islam to have Sharia law enforced on ALL people. It is to be THE law; secular law won’t exist. That, Jim, is the main reason why we must NEVER let Sharia gain a foothold in America. Muslims can come here, but they must understand that their religious law has no place in our culture. That’s not racism; that’s cultural preservation. If you immigrated to a Muslim country you’d expect Sharia law to play a significant role in that nation. Likewise, Muslims who come here should expect Sharia law to be null and void. If they can’t accept that they should stay in their native land. Can you understand that, Jim?

Jim, you need to reacquaint yourself with your American identity. Read the founding documents of this great nation. Read the histories of what happened to the Founding Fathers during the Revolutionary War. Read how many of them lost their fortunes, their families, and even their lives in the pursuit of American liberty and independence. Maybe, when you have an understanding of the price they willingly paid to establish America in freedom, you’ll come to appreciate your country enough to preserve it. God, I hope so.

  5. Jim says:

It is rather odd that you would go so far to say I(people like myself) would be the death of this country. I think, above all, personal liberty is what makes this country great, worth immigrating too. I’ve identified myself more along the lines of of republican/libertarian(the ultimate evolution of conservative ideas, as stated by Regan). For a small, federal government. I will contest your views on the following: religion as far as law is concerned, religion being the inspiration for freedom, what speaking English really says about our culture, finally how assimilation can be done without laws being enacted , rather laws being struck down.
As far as religion having an influence on our laws.. That is the death of liberty & the country(look at prohibition 20s & now.. Ye ol’ I know how to better live your life than you mentality..). But, I won’t let you get away with the statement of “killing is outlawed & is a tenant of Christian origin, because that value is much older than the Christian faith..
Religions are the bonds ignorant men choose to enslave themselves in & give barriers in which they can not penetrate. Freedom in itself is not a religious construct, Christian or otherwise. This is because freedom is inherent. These ideas are not something I’ve just come to learn on my own accord, but, these ideas are also being echoed across time from our founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson.
The one thing we have is religious freedom, to practice as we see fit. It may be a place like a Church, Synagogue, Mosque, in your back yard.. Maybe, you too would be wise to look over our history. Laws like the Alien & Sedition Act passed by John Adams is declared unconstitutional, regarded as a black eye on his entire presidency. The law enabled the government to lock people up that bad mouthed(write, spoken, critiqued) the government in a time of war, deported foreigners whom spoke ill of the government in a time of war(regarded as the main focus of the legislation). It was a Republican whom came to power next, repealed the law & gave back with interest any fines levied on people.
When, we speak the English language I hear more of a want & desire to go back to the bonds that our country wanted to break free from(England) & the tyranny it represented. To be Englishmen in only difference by name. When we try to force people to act in certain ways we do nothing to promote freedom, THE founding principle the nation was founded on. Furthermore it is important to note maybe we should all speak Greek, since it was the first democracy. The only difference is we are not subjugated to mob rule.
One, thing I must mention about, thank you for the spell check, Shira law isn’t so different from edicts that where once popular with the Catholic & protestant churches. Such things as covering of the head(the hair region) where once the thing to do as European & early American women, the womens place was the home etc. Let me just get to a point at which we can now both agree to.
If you want people to assimilate to a culture thats pretty easy.. It once again comes down to freedom… The freedom of a business to choose whom they want to employ. If a business wants to cater to a Hispanic market, than it is justifiable for that business to only accept people of Hispanic dissent or people whom speak spanish, thus, not hiring anyone else if they desire . If they want a larger market share, than maybe they should be allowed to hire whom they want for whatever purpose they want. Likewise, if a business wants to pursue a tradition of English only in the work place, then they likewise should be able to enforce company policy making it mandatory for all of their employees to speak fluent English.
Many men in the fight for our independence didn’t share a belief in religion, they died to repeal repression in all forms. When you speak of liberty & independence please look up & think of what those words really mean. Liberty to live life as one sees fit, practice whatever religion one sees fit, work how one sees fit. Independence from a government that bares down to harshly & infringes on freedoms.. When a government does this & it will from time to time, thats when the government must be redone & founded once again in the founding principles of: life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness… Notice, none of those words can mean one thing at all times to all people.

PS Sharia law under those circumstances couldn’t get a hold on our government & force all to comply. If Muslims want that in their community to some degree than, fine.. But, whomever wants to leave that community should have the right to do such. But, how dare we state that they can’t do something that fringes on their pursuit of happiness, religion practicing(outside of breaking our laws like murder, imprisonment, basically taking the law into their own hands, now allowing members of that community to freely leave it without harm)
