Been listening to the stupidity going on when it comes to the upcoming election for our next president. Do we not realize that we are selling this country down the river with the people we are choosing to run for president?
Here is a rundown of what we are doing.
John McCain is now saying that he is the one “true Conservative” in the race. Don’t you believe it. He has sold his party down the river with bills like the McCain-Feingold act. The McCain-Libermann act, the McCain-Kennedy act, though he has since taken his name off of the Libermann one because he found out that it would hurt his campaign. He has also sponsored and co-written several other bills that he co wrote with Liberal Democrats.
He is now saying that he is a Conservative and his record reflects that. But I have to say, that even Hillary Clinton is closer to being a Conservative than John McCain is, and she is strictly only for Socialism. If you think that John McCain is a Reagan Conservative like he is now claiming, all you have to do is look at what he has done for the Republican party over the last year or so. Everything he has done has been a slap in the face of every true Conservative all over this great nation. The media and the Democrats are trying to say that the Republicans are too far right……when the truth of the matter is, the Country and the Republican party have gone too far to the left……leaving the true Conservatives the only ones who are worried about the future of this country.
Conservatives are going to be leaving the Republican party en masse if the Republican party doesn’t return to where it used to be and actually be the Conservatives that the Candidates say they are. And if the Conservatives leave, I will be among them. As of now, the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is minimal. The Democrats are always crying for bi-partisanship between the parties, but they do not do any of the help in the matter. All they do is call to the Republicans, who instead of trying to convince the democrats they are wrong in their thinking, like they should, reach across and help the Democrats. The democrats don’t help at all. And now McCain is saying that the Republicans need to get behind him so that he can get back to the Conservative values of the party. He said that everybody needs to calm down for the good of the party. Trouble is, he doesn’t love the party….doesn’t want to help it. he doesn’t care about the good of the party. And electing him would be like electing a democrat. But I will continue on that one below.
But they are reaping the benefits of their actions by having the Republicans turning into Liberals themselves. It is like Rush Limbaugh said today….
RUSH: I want to clarify something that I said in the last hour. I had a caller who was talking about the three legs of the conservative stool, and I said that one of the reasons why voters on our side are going to three or four different candidates is because not one candidate embodies all three legs of the stool. The more accurate way to have stated that was that at the outset of our campaign, there wasn’t one who had all three legs. Well, there was one. Fred Thompson did, but he was never really a factor, for reasons we can only guess about. But after that, Romney, McCain, Huckabee, Ron Paul; each one of these guys had a strength on one of those legs of the stool, and so our guys, our side, went off on their single-issue preferences.
I think now, based on the way the campaign has shaken out, that there probably is a candidate on our side who does embody all three legs of the conservative stool, and that’s Romney. The three stools or the three legs of the stool are national security/foreign policy, the social conservatives, and the fiscal conservatives. The social conservatives are the cultural people. The fiscal conservatives are the economic crowd: low taxes, smaller government, get out of the way.
Of course, the foreign policy crowd is obviously what it is. I don’t think there’s anybody on our side who doesn’t care about national security, which is why I found it amazing that McCain gets the bulk of those, because the idea that Romney or Huckabee are going to punt national security? In Huckabee’s case, you might just say the things he’s saying about it represent an ignorance born of inexperience in the subject. I don’t think Huckabee has any deleterious intentions about the country. When it comes to the fiscal side, you cannot say — you just cannot say — that John McCain is interested. He’s even admitted he’s not interested in the social side. He’s not interested in the economic side. He said this, and when he has spoken up about it, he sides more often with liberal Democrats on fiscal issues than he does with his own side. That’s problematic. This is why I think — and why I have said — that the Republican Party, not conservatism, but the Republican Party is in big trouble if it is empowered and gets elected by attracting people who also hold liberal Democrat views simply because they like McCain because of his character, his honor, his prisoner of war story, and they don’t like Hillary or Obama.
And now I have to ask again. Are we freaking nuts? The true Conservatives have to stand up and get counted. We do not want John McCain. Of course all the good ones are out of the race now, but we do not want McCain. He says he is the only “true Conservative” running, but if you look at how he has sided with the Democrats everytime should tell you that he is not Conservative. And we need a Conservative in the White House. Not someone who the media is pushing now, so he can get into the election as the Republican candidate, before they turn on him by pushing the age card or something. It will happen people. Mark my words. We have got to start thinking of what would be good for America….not just what kind of change we can cause no matter what the consequences. Now that being said, if McCain is the one who wins the nomination, it would hurt Conservatives more to stay home and not vote, than it would to vote for him. Sure, he is not the best candidate, but it seems he is going to be the best we are going to get because we fell asleep at the switch and allowed this to happen. It is quickly becoming too late to wake up there. So most likely, the best thing for us to do if McCain wins the nomination, is to vote for him, but like I said, we have to keep him honest if and when he wins the white house. And one last thing…….there is no candidate left who wants to do anything about the illegal immigration problem. After the War on Terror, that is the next in line to be the most important thing we have to take care of.

Also, if you wish to hear my show, the link is to the right in the American Talk Radio section. The last on the list. Tired of all the Liberal Rhetoric Show.
Robert, I have to disagree with you here. True, McCain isn’t a perfect conservative but do you really think a Hillary or an Obama will be better? I admire your commitment to principles; I share that commitment and those principle, but we can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. A Republican in the White House is better for conservatives than a Dem in the White House. If we really believe that conservatism is the best philosophy for America we need to support the candidate who’ll allow us to have the most influence on those in power, if we can’t be in power ourselves.
Wow…Flip a coin and everyone loses.
