Man, it’s sure good to be home. I enjoyed the road, to an extent and got some good photos like the one here,
which was of the sunset in Odessa, Texas. The ability to see this great country was wonderful. And of course, I took photos all along the way. But, I also learned a lot, like to never ever be an owner operator. They are the ones who have to foot the bill if something happens. So, I definitely do not want to be an owner/operator. I watched the amount of money passed between my trainer, who was an owner/operator, and the Freightliner garage there.
Plus, during the two weeks we sat there in Odessa, I was the only one that came out on top, so to speak. I still got paid because I was training, that is until today when I finally got home. So, hitting my bank on friday was a full paycheck. So yes, I came home. All in all, I got a lot of excercise, and got some great pictures. As for the excercise, I probably walked close to 70 miles during the time that we were stuck in Odessa, and watched a lot of television. Trouble is, I didn’t get to watch much in the line of news because everyone wanted to watch Charmed on TNT or something on the History Channel. So, for the most part I was out of touch with the current events, except when I bought the Odessa American paper. Got three posts from that paper.
On Thursday, we went from Texas to Mississippi with the temperatures in the low to mid 70’s and warm temps, until we crossed the border of Mississippi and Ohio. Then it was almost like we hit some hidden wall that kept the weathers on each side of the border from mixing. In Mississippi, the trees were green and the weather was nice and warm. In Ohio, the change was sudden, no leaves on the trees, and the temperatures in the mid 30’s! We hit snow in Springfield, Ohio!
I left there on the Greyhound for home, and the weather was a very chilly cold at 38°, with a cold north to south wind….and SNOW!
All-in-all, I missed out on a lot of news, some of which I talked about a little bit on the last few posts here, transcribed to my fiancee’ who posted them for me. So, Thank you my precious Tammy!
I mostly missed being able to listen to Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity, though, like I said I did buy a few editions of the newspaper there.
News, that mostly escaped my scrutiny was Iran’s capture of the British Sailors. They have since been released, and I heard a comment on Fox the other day where the commentator said that they were released because ‘Iran is only a small country, and they had to back down because they couldn’t stand up to the strength of the West.’ “We are too powerful,” he said.
While, that is true, the United States hasn’t really showed our strong side since World War II, and since have only showed the world our ability to lose wars that we should NOT have lost! Namely, Vietnam.
The problem there folks, is that with our war on terror, we are letting the liberals dictate the terms of our coming defeat! Another that we shouldn’t have to suffer. But, if we don’t start holding our Politician’s responsible for their stupidity, then we are doomed to lose yet another war, that rightfully should have have into the victory column for us. And why we can’t see this, is beyond my comprehension, when even a moron should see it! Period!
Organizations like MoveOn.org., and the liberal media of this country, need to get off of their stupid platforms, and start reporting the truth. You know, the news as it really happens, not as they want it to be perceived! On Rush Limbaugh friday, was a returning soldier, asking a really simple and smart question. He asked: “Why is it, the media does not report the number of terrorists that are being killed by us? Why do they only report how many Americans are killed?” The answer to that is really simple too. And that is, the media wants the lies they tell to be perceived as the truth because the truth does not fit what they want. What is it they want? Us to lose there in Iraq and Iran, like we did in Vietnam. They want to make the American soldier the bad guy. And people……..they are succeeding, if you continue to believe the lies they tell.
