House Democrats Are Trying To Raise Your Taxes….Again

House Democrats pushed their budget blue print to passage Thursday, promising a big surplus in 5 years by allowing tax cuts passed in President Bush’s first term to expire, according to an AP story on page 9-A of the Odessa American. The story goes on to say:

The plan would award spending increases next year to both the Pentagon and domestic programs, but deferrs difficult decisions about unsustainable growth in federal benefits programs such as Medicare.

The 216-210 vote sets up negotiations with the senate, which last week passed a budget blue print with spending increases similar to the house plan. The senate plan would not generate surpluses since it assumes law makers will renew the most popular of the tax cuts due to expire at the end of 2010.

Twelve Democrats mostly from GOP leaning states such as Indiana, oppose the budget plan.

Democrats said that 2.9 trillion dollar plan for next year would point the way to a surplus after years of red ink under Bush and a GOP controlled congress.

Here’s the problem with their thinking, people.

The democrats want to raise your taxes, not because that will give a surplus, but because it will pad their pockets. Tax cuts work to energize the economy, tax hikes slow the economy down. Plain and simple.

The democrats have never given Bush credit for anything, but he has actually done a decent job with all the crap that has happened since he became president. He has done what it takes to bring our economy out of a recession and bring it higher than it has ever been and yet, the democrats can only talk about raising taxes to help the economy which they say is failing. Historically, anyone with any kind of common sense knows that it only hurts the economy to raise taxes.

The democrats do not care about doing anything to help America, they only care about filling their own pockets by raising taxes, as I said a short time ago.

I was sitting in the drivers lounge a few days ago and a discussion about taxes came up, and one driver actually said that ‘The republicans raise taxes, democrats never do.’ I couldn’t help it people. I had to join in. “Are you kidding I asked or are you on drugs?”. He looked at me with a look of amazement, so I continued. “Remember the tax cuts of Ronald Reagan? They were the biggest tax cuts in history. Reagan was NOT a democrat. He was a Republican. Clinton brought in the biggest tax hike in history. Clinton was NOT a Republican. He was a Democrat. Bush brought into play, another big tax cut. He was NOT a Democrat. He is a Republican. The new Democrat majority has already passed a new blue print law, that will let the Bush tax cuts expire, so that taxes can be raised. Not by Republicans, but by Democrats. The democrats have proposed a tax hike almost twice the size of Clintons! ” When I finished he just stared off at the wall. I guess my point on this was taken. It is really scary there are people out there who have such a skewed outlook on reality. And the trouble with that is, it only plays into the American hating hands of the liberals who are always working to pass laws that will only hurt America, by destroying our abilities to defend ourselves, or by destroying a hot economy. That is what the liberals are all about.
