How much is your blog worth?
I had a comment by Andy last night or this morning, saying that he wanted me to show him where John Kerry and his “trophy” wife talked about Mary Cheney’s lesbianism.
I unfortunately couldn’t find what Teresa “Heinz” Kerry said about it, though I know I heard it on Rush Limbaugh yesterday about how she supported what her husband had said. John Kerry brought up Mary Cheney’s lesbianism at the 2004 Presidential Debate with Kerry talking of the homesexual votes mentioned that Vice President’s daughter was a lesbian. I found an article on this at NewsMax.com and it goes on to mention John Edwards wife making a snide comment about the Cheney’s being mad about the comment Kerry made because they were ashamed. Both comments were out of line and wrong to bring up at a Presidential debate. A debate about who is better for the office of the Presidency is NOT THE PLACE to bring this up, unless you are scheming to defeat your opponent, no matter what you have to do, as Kerry did. The only reason for it, was to hurt the Bush camp for the presidency. Below is the story I did find. I know that Teresa Kerry supported her husband on what he said, but I cannot find anything quoting her on what she did say on this fiasco.:

Lesbian Gaffe Not the First for ‘Loose Lips Liz’
“Loose Lips Liz” Edwards’ outrageous accusation Thursday morning that Lynne Cheney is ashamed of her lesbian daughter isn’t the first time the would-be second lady has stepped in it big-time.
In July, Mrs. Edwards was the lone member of the Kerry-Edwards team to expressly defend Whoopi Goldberg after the Bush-hating comedienne compared the president to her private parts at a Radio City Music Hall fund-raiser.
Asked if Goldberg hadn’t gone over the line with the raunchy attack, Mrs. Edwards told Metro Network News reporter Glenn Schuck: “A lot of people are going to be angry [at Bush]. There’s a lot to be angry about.”
In the next breath the the would-be second lady added, “It’s a free country and people are going to express that anger.”
Wednesday night, after John Kerry labeled Mary Cheney a lesbian before a debate audience of millions, her mother blasted the remark as “a cheap, tawdry political trick.”
To which Mrs. Edwards responded this morning, “I think that [Mrs. Cheney's complaint] indicates a certain degree of shame with respect to her daughter’s sexual preferences.”
Even though I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I will continue to look, and if any of my blogroll readers know of the link, let me know. I know it is out there somewhere.
Essentially all I have to say on this is, I do not care what party you belong to, if you tout the praises of privacy, then do as you preach, and leave the private lives of others alone. Mary Cheney never hid her sexual leanings, but that does not mean they are open for anything the politicians decide to open up on.
As I said above, I will continue to look, and when I find it, I will post it for you Liberals who are too lazy to find it, or who don’t want to admit it exists.

I agree that it shouldn’t be an issue. I think personal lives of candidates should remain that–personal. Giuliani’s son being mad at his current wife shouldn’t be in the news.
However, from what I recall John Edwards said almost the exact same thing (though he is just a more empathetic person than Kerry) as John Kerry did. Cheney said, “I thank the Senator for his kind words.” But when John Kerry said almost the same thing (though he is a stiff and weak communicator) it suddenly evil and wrong. The Cheneys can’t have it both ways.
But I appreciate the fact that you read my comment and tried to find what I asked for.
Your welcome. I am still looking, as I know it is out there somewhere. Sorry it is taking so long, as I am now in the middle of classes for a new career.
